I've had/used a lot of jacks. Best one ever is the low profile steel jack from Costco. Low profile, double cylinder, very strong.

Vapor lock would be my first guess, too. Ii have had that exact same problem from the fuel line running too close to the header tubes. I wrapped that section of line with thermal insulation tape and problem went away.

Bingo! It's the higher amp alternators that fry the terminals. The original alternators were 35A, and the remans put out 55A minimum. So unless you are running your original alternator your terminals are probably overworked. I know someone who replaced his alternator with a reman, and a short...

As Ricks79Duster340 said, the easiest way is to start diagnosing your problem is to measure the temperature at each exhaust manifold port. The IR guns are $25 at Harbor freight and they work great.

Excellent post! Hubs (aka knuckle or spindle) are scarce. The only hub that works with the OE type K-H calipers are the OE disc brake hubs. They are hard to find.

In my experience, the quickest way to remove 7 1/4" spider gears is to begin a burnout on concrete and move forward onto asphalt. The spider gear teeth will come shooting out of the cover plate.

Do it! Key thing is that you can do all the metal work. That is the money pit.
