Did you install your pistons backwards too like UTG? Just kidding! Glad you found the problem. It happens to the best of us I have the same fixed 7 blade. Worked great keeping this cool with no shroud, but I recently switched to a viscous clutch fan to gain some freed up HP. I might need to find...
I just posted this in another thread some where but hadn’t read all your posts but I put an old motor mount plate as a shim. Which helped getting the header off the column. These are the tri-y headers though may not work for your app.

I have a used set hanging in my garage that were on a 360 4speed duster. Not sure if it had power or manual steering box they had minor massage dimples for fitment.
I wouldn’t blame any machine shop these days with the amount of failed flat tappets. The good ones take pride in what they do and want to build quality engines. Hard to do when quality control is lost on global economies. No Idea where parts are made could say US but the metal is inferior metals...
This is more in line with what I’m selling minus the rear shocks. 100% ready to bolt in the car. A pair of V8 torsions bars, the steering box and all its related components. And the willwood brake kit complete with the spindles and brake lines. Hell I’ll even sweeten the deal with a front sway...
Brother your beer math is not adding up you are missing a bunch of pieces. Where is all your steering components, steering box, spindles, torsion bars, shocks, strut bars etc. It would be closer to 6k all said and done new. I consider $3700 a good starting price.
