    the ratio is wrong, mopar says to lower bottom pivot one inch,, also on mine , i shortened the upper arm, bout an inch, has lots of room now, plenty of travel also. i measured mine on my dart, c to c, upper is 4 1/4, lower is 5 inches .

    273 commando cylinder head bolt torque specs ? same as 340 ?

    all i wrote, i in regards of torque is from personal experience, i have always used moly lube on my head bolts and main bolts, by using moly lube , you will have more clamping pressure without distortion. i used on my 273 and my 340,.i know arp wants 100, lbs, you will pull block deck up...

    273 calls for 85 pnds torque, i found if you torque above that, it distorts the block deck. my 340 i use 80 # torque , also i use moly lube on bolts, also i torque in steps, 40, 50 50 70, 80. i ran into this issue long time ago.. i have customer, runs a 340 @ 10.65 cr, i torque heads at 85...

    rocker shafts installed backwards... long read. but pics!

    before installing timing chain, soak it in a can of engine oil, for half a day, then install, it. chain will last longer. old motorcycle trick. just food for thought.

    the b&b/long does not require strong leg to operate it. easier on your leg. btw , ours ran low 11 sec car., my friends was a street car. mine was 1400 # base with c/w

    we ran our b&b/long, in a 340 duster, was not a parts breaker, very consistent, very reliable. also you can have base pressure changed , my friend had his set at 1600,# base pressure, also, you can install c/w on fingers to have clutch not slip at higher rpm. just food for thought.

    23 or 18 spline?

    the third gear is the weakest gear, in a four speed trans, i knew a racer did his burnouts in 3 rd gear, kept breaking 3rd gear. we used a 1600 # b&b/long pressure plate in 340 car, had no problems breaking gears , with a series 300 disc. used in drag car. just food for thought

    you can run the B&B/long clutch from mcloed, at 1800 base with a rag disc will work very well. friend had a1600 base one in his 360, ran low 12 sec, wirth slicks

    we ran 23 spline for yearss, had the 3.09 ist gear, in a race car,, 5.57 gears, 340, duster, only prob was, broke a few gears at times, as they were old, we put lots of runs on it, it was proshifted, gear set. ran a 1400 # clutch, then went to a soft loc style. with 1400 # ran a series 300...

    first off, you have a very aggressive clutch, that will break parts, the 18 spline is stronger,, just food for thought

    Big Valve X Heads on Low Comp 72 340

    the 587 head does flow better, over the 915 head, best to install sst one piece valves, that helps flow and velocity. in stock, low comp 340 are as fast as, the higher comp 340's. just food for thought, i've found the 1.88 valve has more velocity over 2.02.
