Can a power top be raised manually?

I’m starting to work on a 67 that’s been outside for a couple years. It’s gonna be a bit before I can get it inside. I thought if I disconnected the rams I could raise the top manually to help keep some water out, but I don’t see anywhere to disconnect them. Can anyone point me in the right...

How do I protect my road wheel caps?

I bought a set of repro center caps for my road wheels off ebay. Is there anything I can do to keep them from pitting prematurely? They look great, but the quality of this stuff isn't what it was at one time. Would a layer of turtle wax help to keep them from rusting or pitting for the next...

Mismatched Wheel Sizes - Need Advice

I’m curious if anyone ever ran 14” wheels on the front and 15’s on the back. If so, did it look okay, or did it look like something was amiss? I’m starting to put my 68 Barracuda together. It has a stock 8 3/4 and I have a really nice KH brake setup for the front. I have 14” rally wheels for...

What is this condenser used for?

Can anyone tell me why this condenser was mounted on the outside of the distributor? I always thought they sat adjacent to the points under the cap. I’m pulling a 68 barracuda out of storage after 42 years, and I can’t tell you how nice it is to see a car that needs everything, but isn’t...

This seat is in great shape considering its 55 years old. The springs and the backing plate are in great shape. These are getting very tough to find. Motor Mount Problems

Does anyone happen to have a picture of how their spool mounts fit the ears on the block? I switched from a 68 to a 74 K frame, bought Anchor 2325 and 2326 mounts with brackets, but they don't seem to want to fit my 73 340 block, not without bending them anyway. I appreciate any help guys.

Out of Storage After 35 Years - Couple Questions

I've read about oil in the cylinders and priming the oil pump, but I have a couple other questions. This 340 wasn't stored well. In looking at the oil filter mount in pic #1, does this look like the previous owner used a 90 deg adapter. I know he used headers. If so what do I need to do to...

    Need Some Yoke Education Please

My car came as a roller, so I've been chasing a lot of miscellaneous items. I ordered a new U joint strap and bolt kit for my rear (7260), which is an 8.25 out of a 74 or so Duster. I want to chase the threads on the yoke while waiting for the kit to arrive. Can anyone tell me what size the...

Can you help a feller identify these seats?

I was thinking 73 to maybe 76 Duster, but I'm not sure. Also why is there an electrical connector underneath them....its looks like a ground of some sort to me. Appreciate any help. BTW, my God seat covers have gotten expensive. I saw $850 on ebay just for the fronts with no foam (Legendary)

    MC Pushrod Question

Sorry man I tried to find the answer on this in previous threads and came up empty. I pulled the manual 9 inch drums off the front and rear of my 67, and I'm going with 11" drums in the rear on an 8.25 and 11.75" disks in the front. I also have the correct prop valve off a disk car. I assume...

    Rally Wheel Fitment Question

I thought I had read somewhere that 14x5.5 small bolt rally wheels may not work with kelsey hayes disks. I can't remember where I saw this, but it suggested you need 14x6 wheels. Does anyone have experience with this they can share?

Can someone shoot me straight on an idler arm question?

Appreciate any help fellas. I pulled the 67 k frame out of my barracuda. I replaced it with a 73-76 out of a 360 Duster. It came with lower control arms and factory sway bar. My understanding is since I'm keeping my 67 steering box and pitman, the drag link from the 67 must be retained. I...

    Eccentric Cam Bolt Position

The last time I found an A body at the U-pullit it had the eccentric bolts toward the front of both control arm bushings (drivers side). I thought as a rule the cams went to the inside near the shock and the washer and nut always went to the outside of the bushing. My suspension is all apart...

    Converting to 11" Rear Brakes

I know the existing e brake cables work in this upgrade, but do I also use the existing e brake lever and the piece that runs between the shoes just under the wheel cylinder, or are they different for 11" brakes vs 10?

    Dodge Pickup Cable Kickdown Swap

I was reading on slantsix.org about guys having trouble going from a 1 barrel to super six because the kickdown linkages are different, and nobody thinks to take that when they source the 2 barrel intake and carb. One dude offered a great solution. He said mid 90s Dodge pickups used an...

Has Anyone Else Gotten Hooked on Engine Masters on MotorTrend?

I love it 10 ways from Sunday, especially since Steve Dulcich is a MOPAR guy through and through, a lot of our engines are featured. Even when not, the content is still educational and interesting. My favorite by far is dyno testing the motor with a really nice set of headers on it, and then...

What Size Brakes For My Backing Plates

Through the years I've picked up multiple pairs of 11" backing plates off large 8 3/4 cars. Now I'm considering using a set on a 73 Duster 8 1/4. How can I tell which size drums and shoes I need to order. I read somewhere they are not interchangeable, and the possibilities are 11x2, 11x2.5...

    Rear Axle Brake Line Question

I'm working on a 73 8 1/4 that has no brake lines between the wheel cylinders. I was looking at the tee block on ebay from inline tube, and it says 1959 to 1996. Does that mean I can go to the Upullit and take one off an 80's van. That'd be like 5 bucks as opposed to 35 for a tee block and...

So I was walking through the Upullit one day on my lunch break with a dress shirt and tie on and came across a 78 Aspen if I remember the year correctly. Rear Drum Question

Some years ago I bought a pair of 8 3/4 axles that were redrilled for bbp. My thinking was change the axles and buy new 10" drums from a 73 up car and I'm on my way. Now I'm not so sure. My 8 3/4 has 10x1.75 shoes on it, and it looks like the 73 up shoes are 10x2.5. Am I missing something or...
