    That’s the problem with being a reader and not a doer. Because port surface finish has an impact not only on power but on jet sizing as well. If you can run 5 sizes smaller jet and make the same (or more) power the car will be quicker. Darin Morgan already said you can’t make them too...

    I’ve seen that too. Guys claim 30-40 more HP than most of the class is even claiming and with that extra power they aren’t even on the same lap. If you look at the observed numbers and fuel flow you can tell pretty quickly when they are fudging numbers.

    The only way that can happen is if the dyno operator is an idiot or a liar. If you are using the same correction factor (and is should be STP and not the newer factors) there shouldn’t be 10 hp difference from corner to corner of the country.

    Use the port. That’s what it’s for. It will lower fuel pressure while at a cruise. It will clean up your cruise AFR a bit.

    It depends. If the step over is deep enough and spaced far enough apart it will affect airflow and you can’t have that.

    I don’t have 2 ***** to give about what cam he’s using. He doesn’t have a cam issue, he has a tuning issue. Again, post all the numbers you want but unless you know the checking heights and at least an at .200 number and then have a good guess how compare two cams.
