My question was what determined why some 66-67 coronets with a 318 and torqueflite got a 7 1/4" rear and why others with the exact same engine and trans got an 8 3/4" rear.

Did they stop using the 7 1/4" rears in B Body cars like the coronet and satellite I'm 1968? I think in 1969 that the 318 cars had 8 1/4" rears or the beefier 8 3/4" depending on engine,right?

Yes,it's a 7 1/4". Very easy to identify.

I thought that sounded unrealistic too. Maybe a racing pit crew could do it that fast,doubt the average Joe could.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'll spray the bolts down with seafoam deep creep a few days in advance. That stuff works really good and is low odor.

Yep,that's what Junkyardhero and others were saying. Nobody wants them and you can usually get them for super cheap or free. Too bad that ones in Ohio. $2 bucks is even cheaper than this one. That's a price even Jack Benny can't grouse about! Lol.

It's refreshing to hear something positive about the 7 1/4". Wish mine had held up like that,but I don't know.how it was driven before I bought it. Hope the next one holds up like yours did.
