Well, coincidentally I went to the dentist for a cleaning today as well. All is good for me too. Hygienist is ok, but the receptionist is better.

My 68 Fairlane 500 with it's 2 bbl 289 was very good at the "one wheel" smokeshow, and I was never shy about lighting it up. Maybe that's why the transmission fried!

Back after a couple of decades

:welcome: from :canada: Very good looking car to start with, that's a major plus! Build it your way, it's your car, and as you said, you aren't starting with an original big block GTS. Have fun with it and keep us posted.

When is a new car "yours"?

I consider it mine when I am able to beat on it and not break anything serious. After a couple burnouts and maybe a good four wheel drift, if it's still running, we're good!

    I’m freekin bored.

I admit that it's tough, and I was a "foster failure" when I got into fostering and socializing dogs that had been abandoned. My first wife was actually the failure, she couldn't bear to let go of this beautiful German Shepherd female we had been tasked with. Bridget was the first one we...

MN Four Seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring, Canadian Wildfire Smoke

Woke up to the "smoke warning", great, summer arrived Friday, and the smoke early today. I too have asthma, the last couple of years have been pretty bad around here for smoke, and from what I understand, the majority of the fires are caused by human activity, ie: arson. Yup, the climate...

Is there an animal shelter near you? There are never enough people to help out at animal shelters, and the rewards of unconditional love you'll get from homeless dogs and even cats will put a smile on your face.

Someone flipped the switch to 'summer' on Friday, hit 82* yesterday and probably will again today. Had to turn on the a/c when it got to 80 in the house, already 72 outside at noon. Wife got the pool out for the 'kids' yesterday and they are all enjoying it. After the tree trimming yesterday I...

Last one to post in this thread wins!

Went over to mom's house yesterday and trimmed some dead branches from the huge pine tree in her backyard. She was trying to cut them herself with a handsaw, at 91! Her husband was of course nowhere to be found, gone for 'coffee' with his buddies. Loaded all the branches up in my trailer, along...

$60k CAD is about $40 to 45k USD. Still a bit high IMO.

Nice 1970 Swinger for sale in Canada (not mine)

Damn, that looks almost identical to my first Dart. Mine was a GT, so 318 powered. Beautiful car, but mucho $$.

Looking at purchasing a "portable garage" (aka, tent) for temp storage. Any recommendations?

I've been thinking about one as well, but the winds around here have shredded every one I've seen so far.

    Solicitor repellant

Delivery provider is a contractor that distributes flyers and other forms of advertising. My wife has a real hatred for Canada Post thanks to their policies of selling our private information to other companies who then use it for soliciting and third party marketing. It has been very effective...

Did I mention that my wife hates anyone coming to the door? She also hates junk mail and flyers, and she has made theses signs for the front door and mailbox.
