I pulled these with engine out of a 1971 Chrysler in the junkyard about 1978. Build date on the block is 5-1-70. They haven’t been out of my possession since. I did have some work done on them sometime in the eighties that I had to get redone recently. No work done on them in 2002.

I thought this was my trunk key cylinder until I went to put it in and the tang going into the latch prutuded way through; more than an inch beyond the latch. Is that possibly right? Also, how the heck do you get the retainer on it with no direct access?

These 915 J heads have this marked on exhaust side of both: TF 080602. What meaning might it have?

I pulled my 360 out of a 1971 C body Chrysler. It had J heads. Block was made in May 1970 as I recall. Don’t remember the intake or carb as I didn’t intend to use it.

That’s a right on for updated rockers. My daughter in law put a pushrod through one of hers. I put heavy duty rockers from Mancini on her stock la engine in her tow truck but you’re camming yours up.

Thanks for the input. I did my heads yesterday and the Howard’s worked fine. Sneaked up on the measurement I needed on the first one, set a depth stop for my drill off that one and the other fifteen were done in minutes. Used CRC on one head, nothing on the other. Couldn’t tell any difference...

Not much to update but some slow progress. Got the valve job with a 70 degree throat cut and one head blended into the bowl. Gasket matched with radius of the pushrod pinch to the straight port wall. Oops, I actually ordered .530 seals. I went back and edited my post. Thanks. I didn’t see any .531 seals at Summit so I thought.001 would make them tighter and not particularly hard to install. Any experience with that? I went with the Howard cutter because the mandrel came with it.
