    I have a 70 Duster and a handful of 71 headliner bows...

Several years ago I bought a '70 Duster shell and have since found and secured all the OEM parts I need to complete the car. Being a '70 model it used a 6 bow setup with the retainer clips. All I have managed to source is a set of 6 bows from an early '71 Duster that used the holes in the roof...

Measurement request - Duster taillight panel

@DFX 340 Duster, thanks so much for the confirmation. The tail panel was installed at a height of 13.25 and I was beating my head off the wall trying to figure out why the trunk gutter was 1/4 - 5/16" too low to properly mate up with the quarter panel when the quarter was properly seated to the...

Measurement request - Duster taillight panel

I'm in the process of completing a resto on a 70 Duster that was started by a previous owner. I've replaced the trunk floor pan and am ready to reinstall the original tail light panel. Can I get a measurement of the distances from the trunk floor to the top of the tail light panel at the...

Black Friday sales. Who’s buying what.

Promaxx beasts them from .100 - .400 and they kinda meet up at .500 at around 250 cfm. Promaxx advertises 5 angle valve job (are the intake's backcut?) vs PW's 3 angle. I wonder if this is the factor that's killing the mid lift flow? Either way, I just ordered the ProMaxx 171s, $2446 CDN to...

@1MeanA For the Canadians, Performance World has their PW heads for SBM for $2249 CAD ($250 off) until the end of the day. They look identical to the Promaxx 171s but claim a 179cc intake / 79 cc exhaust versus Promax's 171 intake / 77 exhaust. The PW's appear to be assembled with quality...

Aluminum heads and 63 vs 65cc chambers

All I want to know is if the Promaxx and Speedmaster 65 cc chambers are just a slightly larger closed chambers or an open chamber like the Edelbrock 65 cc chambers are. The pictures on the respective websites don't clarify this. Promaxx shows an LS combustion chamber which just adds to the...

Aluminum heads and 63 vs 65cc chambers

Are the 65cc combustion chambers on Speedmaster and Promaxx heads closed or open like on the Edelbrock 340 head? If they're both closed, is there any difference in the chamber design or is it more of a case of clever marketing of casting variations?

    Hotchkis rear sway bar install

**UPDATE** The core issue is that the end link brackets are designed to fit on a flat surface and the area they need to go is the forward area of the frame's over-axle arch. The two options are to forgo two of the welds as per the instructions or modify the frame rails so the brackets sit flat...

    Which rear axle gaskets

The rubber asbestos gasket was replaced for obvious reasons with the current dark foam gasket and the old white foam gasket was replaced with the modern embossed steel piece. That said, you can still buy the white foam gaskets from a few spots.

    Which rear axle gaskets

There are two different gaskets: 1) Foam gasket, felpro # 13800 goes between the housing and the drum backing plate; and 2) Metal gasket, felpro # 55032 goes between the axle flange and drum backing plate. If you run the green bearings with the o-ring, you can omit the gaskets.

Ever heard of "Speed & Performance" branded swap mounts?

Ever heard of "Speed & Performance" branded swap mounts?

I should clarify, they are supposed to be for dropping a 5.7 Hemi into a pre-73 A body. Just curious if anyone is familiar with the brand. I don't want to lay our $100 for mounts that don't fit worth a damn.

Has anyone seen these mounts, or can speak to their quality / fitment? Seller claims they are for A body (obviously pre '73).

New Kelsey Hayes 10 x 1.75 brake drums with BBP??

New Kelsey Hayes 10 x 1.75 brake drums with BBP??

My online research so far seems to suggest that when the BBP 8.25 axle replaced the 8.75 in A-bodies axle for the '73 model year, the 10x1.75" brake setup died with it. All listings on Rock Auto and NAPA seem to back this up, that said factory oddities of all kinds likely exist. Honestly, I want...

New Kelsey Hayes 10 x 1.75 brake drums with BBP??

If you interpreted my response as a challenge to your knowledge, that was not my intent. I tried to find a listing for BBP 10 x 1.75 drums or shoes for 73+ A-bodies as well as F, M and J bodies and had no luck. As I was looking, I got a message from another forum and I simply shared it to see if...

New Kelsey Hayes 10 x 1.75 brake drums with BBP??

Every online reference I can find shows that 73+ A-body was 10 x 2.5" with 4.25 bolt pattern. I just had a fella from another site PM me that these drums are for 66-70 B-body with /6 and 7.25" axle and have been discontinued for decades, unable to confirm though.

New Kelsey Hayes 10 x 1.75 brake drums with BBP??

I recently acquired a NOS pair of Kelsey Hayes brake drums as part of a larger local parts buy. The numbers cast into the drums include KH125944 and 97455. The machined surface measures 10x2" which leads me to believe that they are for 10x1.75 shoes. Here's the kicker, they aren't 5x4" as you...

Which K frame would you use, given the choice?

#3 left, #2 right #1 up front, #2 in the rear. #3 looks really good but there's a lot of bondo hiding a lot of sins. #2, the California car is the best build candidate with excellent frame, rockers (inner and outer).
