Small block headers: worst to best fitting. List your experience.

Folks always ***** like you have to take the headers off everytime you change oil, - ffs. Mosta mine have been on over 5 yrs, one over 10 yrs. Headers are still the most cost effective way to gain h/p .

The 5303 had the #1 tube go straight down thru the "Y" gap in the k-frame, then went under the k and steering gear. Was first header I bought for the Dart from the Mopar Parts counter, kept warranty too. Was one of the first 3 things the Hustle Catalog suggested for improvement.

I strongly recommend sending pix, particulars, have all the answers as to where the engine sits as per that chart I posted. Have all the answers ready, and call or mail all that stuff. Particularly the torsion bar/collector beating adjustments. I have had a flange on crooked as I mentioned, they...

I've been installing headers since the 60's. The 4 yr apprenticeship seemed to be an endless chain of 4 barrel manifolds, 3/4 race cams, headers, and 4:11 gears. Ive installed most brand headers into most breeds of cars, and an A-Body Dodge is a piece of cake compared to some other vehicles ...

You'll need to check the diagonal measurements of the datum points as shown, left front to right rear, then right front to left rear, compare them and the other diagonals and see if the frame is "diamond" shaped . Many roundy-round cars are, some by choice, others not, lol

I have put a flat washer under the 2 inside/inboard steering box mount bolts, to angle box away from engine, then loosened the 3 bolts holding the steering column base to the floor, to align as nec, - to gain clearance. I have seen a u-joint replace the coupler, can't remember vehicle. "Flaming...

Hi, welcome to the site, lotsa knowledgeable friendly folks here. Mtrhead has named the 2 newer design headers with improved ground and spark plugs clearance. This question is asked very often, so a quick search of "exhaust" will lead to a lotta helpful threads . Keep in mind, there are...

I had a a Challenger bblk, I had to take a belt sander to the head flange to get it to fold under, kinda like this one. That header was fkd, but I got it to fit. The old days were a nightmare, no 2 headers were the same, hand welded, flange was like a mountain range, weld/ file every set. At...

Bob, the only other time I saw an issue like this, the installer didn't know the engine sits something like 1 1/2 inches to the passenger side, and he had centered the engine in the frame and had major issues like you. I'd really be interested, I'm sure I asked before, where your engine/crank...

I'm really at a loss as to why you're having so much trouble Bob, I wish I had a magic wand to help you out. I have had to remove the steering column and remove a few inches off the bottom of the column, and move the lower bearing up. I really don't remember which vehicle. Make sure you contact...

    tight fitting header recommendation

Our 1962 fenderwells, we just capped the collector, then drilled a 2 1/2 inch ( 3" now)hole on the side of the collector the size exhaust pipe to be used, went sorta straight in and hung about 90* ish to the mufflers. At strip just undid 3 bolts, put on extensions and threw the cap in the...

If engine access is you're concern, what's to access down the side of the block below the ports, with shorties winding back and forth you can't even see the side of the block.
