    Choice of carb?

For a driver I'm a big fan of the Avs2 carbs, have a single 800, and dual 650's. Neither setup has a choke.

    Why run dual quads?

And two Thumper carbs to boot! That is wicked Man!

    Why run dual quads?

I'm 46 and feel the same way! That right there looks like "a while lotta love", and I bet she "rambles on" with a press of the loud pedal!

    Why run dual quads?

Partially depends on the style of intake being used. In my case, I chose to run a tunnel ram, which gave a large performance boost over the single plane. Dyno tests have shown less than desirable results from running single carbs on tunnel rams, so dual carbs it is. Due to the season, I did...

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

Sorry, just realized the vintage of this post! Lol

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

It should work. I had this most aggravating scenario happen to me also, leaked like a sieve using new parts, put old lock ring back on and problem instantly solved. When you make the swap, look at the two rings together, very evident what the problem is. Sad the aftermarket cant manufacture...

    Edelbrock setup for dual quad

Agree, but when you are doing something new, you need a baseline with which to start. Can't observe, until you try something. Seems my intuition was wrong on baseline settings.

    Edelbrock setup for dual quad

Thanks for this, I am just about to install a dual quad, 1:1 setup on my 408, and did exactly that. I jetted carbs down thinking there would be more fuel. I will set them back to standard setting for initial trial.

Mech Fuel Pump Drag Racing 318

Absolutely true, they are advertised to not need a regulator, but they indeed need one. I bought 1st one for exactly this reason, it put out 8.2psi. The replacement, 8.5psi, and it's replacement 8psi. Tech at Edelbrock said that is just the way it is. I am running the third one with a...

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

Edelbrock tech told me the 1903 carbs calibrated for dual quad applications, are suited more for low rise dual plane dual quad set ups, not tunnel rams, where the carbs will share a larger common plenum. For that application 1902 500's or 1905 650's were recommended.

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

I'm in the process of putting 2 Edelbrock 1905 650 AVS2 carbs on my Holley pro Dominator W2 engine. About to order a 6 pack hood to enclose it all. I personally prefer the contained look. Just looking around for a second 1905 Edelbrock.

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

    What throttle bracket is that?

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

You could likely join choke plate from electric choke, to the choke plate on the manual choke unit, with some sort of linkage also. Have them both control off of the electric choke actuator.

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

Out of curiosity, what is the rest of the build, if you don't mind sharing?

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

Other than the manual choke carbs being calibrated more for performance, than the electric versions, they are the same carbs. If you were to tune them the same, as far as jets and rods, they would be identical carbs other than the choke. I spoke directly with a tech at Edelbrock, contrary to...

    340 Stroker (372) carb recommendation

Agree with your points on this carb, I am very happy with mine. On the dual feed kit for this specific application, I was told by Edelbrock tech it was for asthetics and not a benefit to performance. I cannot confirm nor deny as I do not have one, nor experience with one. I am considering...

    Carb size for mild 440

Point well understood, however they also had better heads, more compression, higher flowing exhaust manifolds and camshafts than the one in question. 360's could be had in 4 barrel form in Dusters and Cuda's etc, as a performance engine. They could also be had with a 2 barrel in pickups and...

    Carb size for mild 440

Thanks to all that responded, I will be sharing this information with my Buddy who ultimately will decide. I suspect he will lean towards the 650 due to type of usage of car. Really, at the end of the day I don't think he could go too wrong with either choice.

    Carb size for mild 440

This was my thinking, the car is never really to the floor. Driveability is the program here, I know the thumper cam isn't really the ideal choice here, he had to have the choppy idle. Lol

    Carb size for mild 440

Good morning everyone, I am a little out of my element here. A friend of mine has a 67 Satellite with a motorhome 440. The engine is stock internally with the exception of a Hughes Whiplash cam, performer intake manifold. Car has 3.23 gears, tall rear tires, and stock exhaust manifolds...

Air Gap vs. M1 Single Plane For Stroker

Having been around these strokers on the dyno, unless you have SERIOUS heads, and by that I mean 300cfm flow, plus, and a cam to match, reality says they are a 6000rpm engine. Unported Edelbrock heads with a cam in the 240-250 neighborhood is peaked in hp by about 5600 rpm, there just simply...

Found this in my new sniper throttle body!!

Wow, that is bad it could get out the door like that. It is nice to see how fast Holley acted to remedy this situation though. I guess everyone makes mistakes now and then, the more important part is how mistakes are owned and dealt with.
