    Thermoquad idling issues

From what I saw at my customers shop, and what he told me after he got it on the engine, I don't think you can go wrong. He said that all he had to do once it was on the engine was adjust the idle. It's not inexpensive for sure, but after almost 40 years in the automotive repair industry, I've...

    Thermoquad idling issues

For what this is worth, you might also want to check out >> www.harmsauto.com << . He's up in Spokane. A customer of mine, from my working days, sent one down to him to be gone through. He was more than pleased with it, and if you didn't know better, you would think he just purchased it new...

    carb recommendations

There are some interesting videos and observations on the Street Demon on You Tube. There are road and dyno tests of the carb on GM, Ford and the one that most interested me, the installation and road test on a 1972 Dart. The installation and testing on the Dart was done by a shop called ASAP...

    carb recommendations

x2 There's an interesting article in the August edition of Mopar Muscle comparing carbs. In the article on their 'BUDGET" built 360 it seems like they feel the Street Demon is the best bet for their engine. Worth a read for sure.

Car bogs down like its out of gas

This is so simple and obvious, but I'll bet I'm not the last one that had this happen to them. Back in the day with my 71 340 Duster, I had the same problem. Looked everywhere, but no matter what I did, still had the same issue. While in the carport cursing, my wife asked what was going on...

    Thermoquad help

I need some help with my thermoquad. There appears to be a screw(?) on the drivers side of the carb that holds the fast idle linkage on the carb. My problem is the linkage is so stiff that to engage or disengage the fast idle, you must manually move the fast idle adjustment screw. I've got...

    6453s thermoquad help

I've got a 6453S thermoquad, and I need some help, specifically photos or diagrams of the choke linkage on this carb. When I rebuilt it, I made the mistake of NOT taking photos of the carb:oops:, and when I put it back together, I messed up with the choke linkage. A friend of mine gave me a...

    Holley Carb/linkage problems

Well I got the Holley on today, and with a bit of fooling around and a couple of flat washers for spacers, all is right in my Challenger world.:-D Carb went on with no problems, and the engine fired up almost right away. The only adjustment that has been done is to adjust the idle. I'm going...

    Holley Carb/linkage problems

A big thanks to 340Mopar and 69signetV8 for the information. I bought the adapter bracket, and after fooling around a bit with a die grinder it now fits the spread bore. I found out that this bracket was for the square flange carb, but like I say it now appears that I can get this to work...

    Holley Carb/linkage problems

I recently purchased a Holley Spread bore to replace my aging Thermoquad. The model I picked was the one recommended by Holley and was a direct bolt on replacement except for the linkage for the trans kickdown rod, and the throttle cable. As you know there is a threaded arm that sticks out...
