    Stock exhaust manifolds vs headers

You got a pretty lite car so that's good, what gears are you gonna run and you going to add a decent stall? You probably want something in the 210-225 @ fifty intake duration, kind of depends on you.

    Stock exhaust manifolds vs headers

Peak power (hp) or torque ? That's stock mild manner range, Stock is around 4,000 so anything above will start to increasing the powerband, 4,500-5,000 rpm is a good streetable peak hp rpm and peak torque is generally 1000-1500 rpms lower. You have typically 500 or rpms about peak hp where...

    Stock exhaust manifolds vs headers

Here's a basic cam 4bbl & header plus rebuild goes from 71 RWHP to 132 RWHP. Here's more wild 282 hp

    Stock exhaust manifolds vs headers

Not much, headers are an arguable mod on a mild V8's, that's why said the OP the only one that can answer it what does he value more $$$$ or a header on his car with probably very little performance gain. It really depends on the person for some the cost doesn't matter others it does.

    Stock exhaust manifolds vs headers

Only you can really answer that question is the performance gain worth the cost among the other factors to you ?

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

I don't care if force induction is or isn't a Dynamic Phenomenon, wasn't the point I'm trying to make, but it does seem to fit the meaning :)
  7. 273

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

How? Cause I don't want to OP waste a bunch of money to see little to no gains in the area he seems to be looking for? Or at least to do it with knowing the possible down sides.

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

"Dynamic Phenomenon means a continuous, energetic and positive process of change and progress." seems like force induction fits.

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

I know what answer he was looking for :) Really what kind of real world torque gains are we talking here ? No matter what type of header, especially in the idle-3000 rpm where we spend very little time at full throttle and torque at these rpm only translates to 12-59% hp per lbs-ft of torque...

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

But generally at part throttle, unless your pushing the throttle over 1/2 - full to do normal driving around town your already making more idle-3000 rpm power then you use.

    Tri-Y Headers for torque?

Idle to 2000/2500 rpm there's a few things to do to gain torque in this area but it's mainly displacement and cr, since those are somewhat fixed by the engine choice and fuel type. Your mainly trying not to lose here while trying to gain 2500-5000+ rpm range. Head flow is the biggest cork on /6...

    Boosted slant?

A turbo will multiply the NA power of all cams, will a wider LSA make more power over narrow possibility is it gonna be huge difference probably not.
  17. 273

    Boosted slant?

You'll need to make about 180-200 NA hp + boost to reach your goal.
  18. 273

    Boosted slant?

Aren't super 6 aluminum intake? either way yes you can use it. Around how much hp and boost you looking for?
  19. 273

    Boosted slant?

Depends on your goals, a turbo say with a 400 hp capability can only produce around that amount with a combo of NA hp + boosted hp, a boost of 14.7 psi basically doubles (2 x ) your NA power, half that boost 7.35 psi 1.5 x NA, 22.05 psi 2.5 x NA. General rule of thumb. A 140 hp /6 with 5-10 psi...

    Better acceleration?

I'd start with tuning, carb and timing and timing curve make sure your get everything it's got now. Then yes pick another head have fully done port milled valves etc.. and have the have the piston height volume checked while it's a part but unless cr not crazy low I wouldn't overly worry about...

    Better acceleration?

Depends what the individual considers performing well ? Most people hopping up a streetable NA /6 is gonna get around modern NA 4 cylinder power levels of 140-180 net hp not modern 6 cylinder hp if that not enough some kind of power adder or bigger engine is needed. To me a /6 is more on par...
  23. 273

    Better acceleration?

Why modern 6 cyl make 250-300+ hp with mild cams is head flow. Plus a 6 cyl only has 6 sets of ports to make the hp, /6 has terrible stock head flow even ported ain't that great. But still a cool little engine.
  24. 273

    Better acceleration?

The trick or the problem gaining any huge amount of NA power at low rpms is it's very hard. Eg. take multiples of 1313 rpms so 1313/2626/3939/5252/6565/7878 etc.. hp percentage for every lbs-ft goes up, 25% for each step up of 1313 rpm 25%/50%/75%/100%/125%/150% gain for every torque gain in...
  25. 273

    Better acceleration?

Supercharger is a little extreme if all your looking for is a bit more power for going up hill, now if your looking for general performance like better 0-60, 1/4 mile etc.. than supercharger would be a good way. With 10 psi your probably be 250-280hp so rear end yes, trans should be fine maybe...
  26. 273

    Better acceleration?

CR and head flow AKA Porting/valves, the stock /6 head is the biggest roadblock to power.

225 High Performance Engine / 904 Trans / 2 1/2 Inch Pypes exhaust - What Is It Worth

From the pic's looks like you could set it up to be running on the ground making it easier for people to part with their money.

225 High Performance Engine / 904 Trans / 2 1/2 Inch Pypes exhaust - What Is It Worth

To me that's gonna be a hard sale, you didn't mention any head work like valves porting etc.. all you know that your getting forsure is a intake and exhaust, with a compression test I'd probably pay $1000 at best, can't see anyone paying $2000+, start somewhat high you could always lower the price.
  29. 273

    225 power rebuild?

When it comes to /6 the head is the biggest cork on power, I'd put most of my attention $$$$ towards that, I like the idea of adding a torqstorm.
  30. 273

    Building a slant for torque

If you want to increase tq by any large amount like 300+tq, a turbo that comes in at a low rpm would be the way to go.
