Yes, the tang appears curved and much shorter. The retainer has more to hold on to. I wonder who else has this type? I’ll have to dig through all my misc parts to see if I can find something similar.
That is nothing compared to what the guy did in the eighties. I asked him to mill them fourty and put 2.02s in. He must have put the valves in first. He milled one fourty with valves in at the start and shaved two intakes. I replaced the two valves and put the heads away until recently. When I...
I pulled these with engine out of a 1971 Chrysler in the junkyard about 1978. Build date on the block is 5-1-70. They haven’t been out of my possession since. I did have some work done on them sometime in the eighties that I had to get redone recently. No work done on them in 2002.
I thought this was my trunk key cylinder until I went to put it in and the tang going into the latch prutuded way through; more than an inch beyond the latch. Is that possibly right? Also, how the heck do you get the retainer on it with no direct access?
The first time I saw a Mirado at the dealership with a 360 and Thermoquad I wanted it so bad. Just didn’t have the money. Still had my 1970 Dart then so it wasn’t so bad.
I pulled my 360 out of a 1971 C body Chrysler. It had J heads. Block was made in May 1970 as I recall. Don’t remember the intake or carb as I didn’t intend to use it.
Str12-340 suggested I make a punch list to mark off as I get things done. I took his advice and reviewed it lately. I was pleased to see quite a few items have gotten done though slowly. Thanks str12-340.
One item I’m pleased with is the finished heads were flow checked on one intake port by a...
That’s a right on for updated rockers. My daughter in law put a pushrod through one of hers. I put heavy duty rockers from Mancini on her stock la engine in her tow truck but you’re camming yours up.
Thanks for the input. I did my heads yesterday and the Howard’s worked fine. Sneaked up on the measurement I needed on the first one, set a depth stop for my drill off that one and the other fifteen were done in minutes. Used CRC on one head, nothing on the other. Couldn’t tell any difference...
