M1 4500 intake requires a lot of welding to make power on 270 heads. A lot of welding. Figure at least $2000 to have a pro cut the intake apart, add material and weld it all back together. Much less expensive to just buy an Indy intake and have it port matched.
Thanks Andy. I was just kinda wondering. I have a selection of intakes that I can use on a 440 with.a maxwedge port, (including a tm7 with "a lot of welding"). I was wondering if the MI dominator I have could get that big. I guess the answer is no.
If i ever do a 400 stroker with max heads, an Indy intake will be first on the shopping list, lol.
