My 66’ had gaps like that and was all factory. It does not know. It took hours to get close, not perfect but close. It still wins awards with non perfect gaps. I honestly did not look super hard at the gaps when all that engine was hanging out. Kinda like the woman in the red dress in the movie...

You do realize that those body gaps from the factory were crap… right? Who knows why some people do what they do. They may be on purpose. That thing probably twists up pretty hard and the gaps allow doors to still open after a few “mashing of the throttles.”

Spring loaded shocks for the back is like putting lipstick on a pig. Will it work- yes. But not for the long haul. New springs are needed. They wear out even just sitting there. Bushings, wearplates, and height. As for shocks- name brand and new are best. eBay shocks- not so much. lol!
