    Ailing engine (Updated after teardown)

Thanks for the information.Ive been running a 1st gen bronco 3 core cross flow, and thin direct drive flex.worked OK but not great. This time I went with a champion 4 core and 18” electric. No shroud,we’ll see. I do still have room for the thin flex if needed.

    360ci Oil and Oil Filter

New felpros and a good retorque after two or three average heat cycles and you’ll be good to go a good long while.

    Ailing engine (Updated after teardown)

When I was shopping there were some copper ones out there but no real options on thickness.Or go with another set of Fel Pros, with studs and maybe get another few years out of it.

    Ailing engine (Updated after teardown)

The cometics are available in a variety of thicknesses. Now would be a good time to freshen the heads MLS gaskets as stated above need proper surface finish,If you do the math you could lower your static a bit.And I know there pricey but get the studs.

You would not ad any additional, once set at the proper angle.Usually 3 to 5 degrees negative (down) at running weight.

Anyone ever add a drain plug to a torque converter?

The proper pop rivet would be a “cherry” blind head aircraft rivet. imo you can’t beat the tried and true 1/8 NPT

How many of you grease your own trailer axles?

I adjust mine like this. After greasing I rotate the wheel just until I can no longer feel any play in bearing. Then go one flat tighter.I get nervous about preload especially on a used bearing.Ive pulled many “loose” trailer bearing’s only to find no damage. But a little to tight and you risk...

Anyone ever add a drain plug to a torque converter?

Careful where you drill! The face is where the clutch plate rides.DONT drill there.drill the outer ring just rear of the radius of the front cover.use a 1/8 pipe plug don’t tap any deeper than needed to get plug at least half way in.Use a Allen head plug.

    Trans leak up front

Make sure the TV linkage is adjusted properly.A flare on both 1/2 and 2/3 is low fluid/plugged filter or Low Pressure.

    Trans leak up front

Sudden leak like that usually going to be a pump bushing that walked out against the seal,or a cracked hub.
