    74 Dart Swinger Stroker

Nice! I'd like to know more about the 700R4 behind a big block Chrysler. Its probably a mod that's been around but I don't recall hearing or reading about it. what was required to do that?

    Where and What Size Hole?

You all have valid points that I have considered well before bringing the hood home. I was hoping to get at least some measurements to begin with. I definitely like the method Professor fate suggested. Thank you all

    Where and What Size Hole?

My car (72 Duster) has been in body shop jail for over two years now (that's a story for another time). I'm putting a 383 with a Weiand Hi-Ram (dual quads) on top of it. Obviously, I have to put a hole in the hood. The hood is coming home for a fee other repairs I am performing and now would be...

2017 ram 2500 broken manifold bolts

That's awesome; a lot of people have kept their vehicles from that era and cashed in on having the warranty. Not everyone is as lucky, as sometimes they have been looking at the value of the vehicle vs cost of repair and buying out the customer. Those that really won out on the warranty - the...

2017 ram 2500 broken manifold bolts

Couple things, the stainless bolts never "fixed" the problem (though often held long enough to make it out of warranty. The article above mentioned unlimited power train warranty - nope; unless you are the original owner of the vehicle, when they offered the "lifetime warranty," most people...

    Another 383 Cam Consideration

Thanks, I'm not a real fan of the Streetmaster, either, but for now it is what I have. I've always preferred a dual plane for previous builds I've done. Of course, I've never built a full race, single purpose engine.

    Another 383 Cam Consideration

I wondered about that, I have fixed it now, I think.

    Another 383 Cam Consideration

Thanks, the original lifters are long gone, and this engine was pretty rough for having "been recently rebuilt." I ordered new ones, which I realize is a lottery in itself.

    Another 383 Cam Consideration

I didn't want to hijack TristanCuda67's thread, so I'm posting my own. I'm doing a 383 for my Duster. It's a '68 block that has been decked only about .005" for cleanup purposes, so not really a high compression rig; and '452 heads. More of a daily driver , automatic, 3.55 rear gear ratio. The...

    Fiberglass hood maker

This is a long shot, I know, but co you have any hoods left you would sell and pictures of them? I'm more looking for a flat hood but do intend on running a tunnel ram at some point, so it will eventually get opened up. I am open to suggestions. If you like, you could pm me any info and for...

    Edelbrock LD4B - what's the operating range?

I had one on a .060 over 360, with the Mopar .484 cam, the heads were stock 360 heads with mild porting and good valve job. It pulled well up to about 6800 RPM.

This is just a guess based on recollection, I think I ran into that same situation years ago, and it ended up being the ballast resistor.

    Difference in fenders?

What, besides the obvious side marker lamps are different on fenders for a 70-71 Duster vs 72 and up? I’m aware of the “beak” front on the later models as well, just haven’t found any good references between the early ones.

Welding on car with Sniper EFI

I've never had to do more than disconnect the battery on any modern car when welding; but if it makes you feel better, go ahead and unplug anything with a module or integrated circuit.

    Toolbox replacement time. Suggestions?

I haven't been in a Harbor Freight in a while to even see the upper line you guys have mentioned. For the money a lot of people like the US General boxes they have but I've always said they don't offer enough space. The drawers don't pull out all the way and don't go the full depth of the...

Big Block Ring Compressor - Which one?

@RustyRatRod I've wondered how well those work that was a set I had my eye on. Do they hold pretty well or are there issues like the compression sleeve type I have, where the rings sometimes pop out the bottom and hang up? @RatBastid and @MoparMike1974 from what I read the adjustable (and non...

Big Block Ring Compressor - Which one?

I'm assembling my engine, it's a 383, bored .060" over, to 4.310." I have a couple of the older band style (BluePoint / Lisle) compressors, and always had good luck with them; but none of the the ones I have, seem to fit properly without a struggle. What's the consensus on ring compressors that...

The Only 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona Sold By Mr. Norm Is Up For Grabs

Love it, but I admit, I love all Chargers from the 68-69 era. I've grown to like the 70, if the bumper is painted (I know its wrong) to match the body.

Asking for input/help diagnose, not an a-body

Look for worn control arm bushings. The control arms are the links that run parallel to the side of the vehicle and attach to the rear and the "frame."
