And yet another question. The resistor board was not connected to the bracket. Appears that the tiny rivet that holds the board to the bracket was corroded through. Can that be repaired? Thanks!

Another question: the arm that contacts the fine wire winding has a very small hole in the dimple. From what I read on another post, that hole isn't supposed to be there. Can anyone offer a way to close the hole? It's very small. Can it just be soldered closed? Thanks!

If I were to soak my OEM sending unit in vinegar, would it damage the tiny wire winding? Thanks!

I only have the OEM ring, so that's good. As far as I know, my old sending unit was still working when I removed the old tank. I just thought it was a good idea to replace it with a new one. I got the new one at the Chrysler Classic at Norwalk. I would hope that the vendor was a reputable one...

Thanks for the reply and the pic. That helps greatly. Yeah, I still have my OEM unit. It worked before it was removed, I just felt better installing a new sending unit in the new tank.

I am installing a new sending unit in my new tank. When I turn the locking ring, does it somehow lock in place, or do I just push it until the tangs on the ring run up again the tabs on the tank? I want to be sure of no leaks, and I don't want to have to drop the tank once I get it installed...

Definitely not set on the pre pump filter, just was asking the experts, since the pre filter was recommended by the engine builder. Everything in the fuel system is new, including the pump. Would a filter with a replaceable element be sufficient?

This is all new. The tank, sending unit, fuel line are all new. I just want to protect it as much as possible.

So, one before the pump and one after? Canister? Same rating for both?

I see what you're saying, but I am a bit nervous about cutting the metal fuel line to put in the filter. Any other place to put it?

I don't have an electric fuel pump, just the mechanical type. It's a Carter OEM type. Does the make a difference?

When I had the 340 built, the fellow who did the build suggested that the sintered brass filters be removed from the fuel bowl inlets, and an inline fuel filter be added between the tank and the fuel pump. Before I jump back into this, what's y'alls opinion? Thanks
