is a gallon enough for the outside of a car..ok its not the scamp its a datsun roadster. but lets say its for the scamp

thanks
steve

If your using a HVLP gun that should be enough.

as far as base i used about a gallon doing door jams, engine bay, under hood and trunk, with pleanty on the body

provided i did use a lot of clear in the process, but if its one step i would imagine so with a HVLP gun

yes i have a hvlp gun.

i really want to take the scamp down to nothing to paint it. Glass out, just total strip.
Will it be worth it? its gold, and i want to repaint it gold as to look diff than all the silver cars today. and im going to put black steels with dog dish caps to set it apart from all the "g-machines"..either the stock gold interior or a black one with bench seat..any thoughts?

any place where i can get a decent price on gold factory looking paint?

thanks
steve

I painted a 86 Dodge Daytona w a gallon of white. That's including engine bay & everything. Could have used another quart to repair a few mistakes, but it was my first paint job & on a budget. I got the paint from NAPA. just over $100 for paint, reducer & hardener.
