    My car was an original 273 car, thought about putting a turbo/blown 273 back in :)

    I showed a 500 hp 307 build in this thread, same bore as a 283 and wasn't too fancy pretty much what you would do making 500 hp with any other engine and size, just had too spin it up too 7,400 rpm.

    Shouldn't need to, say you squeeze 550 hp and make around 1.25 lbs-ft per cid and 90% of that torque at peak hp. 408 x 1.25 x 90% = 459 lbs-ft @ peak hp 426 x 1.25 x 90% = 479 lbs-ft @ peak hp 550 hp x 5252 / tq @ peak hp = peak hp rpm 408 = 550 hp @ 6,300 rpm and 510 lbs-ft @ 4300-5300 rpm...

    Most are running a 2.02 valve or less, a 318 bore is more than capable, is it costing you a few hp, more than likely but under 500 hp I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. And if rebuilding with a .030-.060" overbore your so close to being basically 4". If people really cared about bore size they...

    They can if the drivetrain is factored in, engines of similar power eg.. 300 hp, but vastly different displacements (rpm, powerbands), if each geared to take advantage of each's powerband they generally will be putting similar torque to the ground.

    I had to defend my wanting a 400 hp ish 273 against all the 360/408 guy's probably why I'm defending the 273, 318's etc.. all the time. That's what I originally wanted to build was around 375-425 hp 273 at 6500-7500 rpm, for a Time Attack 65 Cuda I was trying to build, but never happened...

    The easiest way if we assume similar VE% and efficiency is Just times Cid and rpm / New Cid = New cids rpm, 360 x 5500 rpm / 273 = 7,253 rpm, 318 = 6226 rpm. Or divide by desired rpm to see what cid you need. That's if VE% and efficiency is the same less efficient = more rpm, higher...

    100% plus the 318 guy's aren't anti 360 or 408 or whatever (maybe 2 are :) ) and trying to get people to build a 318 instead were just more openminded, if what the OP wants can be accomplished with a 318 or whatever engine and he is fine with any negative side effects then we try help him out to...

    Same, you hear a guy doing 11/12's in a /6, 273, 318 and your ears perk up. That's a cool little car. I like the 318willrun's type builds what can you get out of it doing minor mods especially to mostly stock parts.

    So I decided to build a 360 for my Valiant :)

    Yes apparently so, how do we know cause these magazine guy's tried to misinform to make us believe it's possible cause obviously the illuminati wants us to build 318 over 360 :) 3-8-Teen Dream Chrysler 318 Engine - A Powerplant To Brag About

    That's why post it so often, on these types of threads, Should easily help any one wanting to do anything under 400 hp. With a 360 or even a 318/340 shouldn't be too different. Add some CR and or a set of Edelbrock or clone heads for even better results. Here similar on magnum side, the cam one...

    And the 318 guy's are also in here, notice were not trying to convince the OP to build something else that he don't want to/interested in :}

    Problem with magnum heads there prone to cracks, so not really worth putting much money into, They seem to make a little more power than 360 heads but any aluminum aftermarket gonna make more than both.
