Separately since I was doing it myself. I probably could’ve done both at the same time through the top, but I didn’t want to chance it. So the transmission came out the bottom. The four top bolts at the transmission are a pain in the ***, but not too bad once I figured out how to make an...
This is an interesting thread. I just found it after starting one a few minutes ago. I was asking about a lower first gear. My application is a 340 and a Bbody with a 904 transmission and a 3.55 rear end. I come to this form because you guys are mostly familiar with the 340 and 904.
I pulled my...
Hey guys. I thought I heard that someone was running a “low first gear 904”. Can someone explain what that is? Was that a specific factory model type or a modified first gear?
Just to close this, I did determine that it was my oil pick up at the pan was getting caught up on. I couldn’t even put the pan back on without having to remove the pump in the pick up. Any event we have success. Thank you for all your support guys.
Thanks. Watching the video helped me better understand all the curves. I like these practical videos. I took a Tradesman 200 out into the mountains of Colorado as my HS graduation trip with two of my buddies. That thing had 3 on the tree and was beat to crap as it was used as a plumbers truck in...
I’m gonna need to read this two or three more times maybe even more to understand this better but I think I understand the gist of what you’re saying. People have been telling me this type of story for a while and it always makes me question is a 318 better for the street than a 340. I suppose...
I wonder why so few people use both (I know they are unrelated) a solid roller lifter set up AND gear driven CAM. Seems like that would mechanically be the most accurate and fastest way to control valve event timing in our engines (SBM).
I’ve watched this and some other f his other videos. He seems very knowledgeable. The more I learn about cM shafts the more questions I have. It’s like a never ending circle due to the fact that there are so many related variables. I really respect guys that understand this well along with guys...
Thanks for taking the time to try and explain this. I don’t rightly understand much of what you’re saying initially but my current engine has solid lifters perhaps helping address that weakness of the floating valves. Yet I rearly in fact have never seen another solid lifter 340 personally. I...
