Front fender liners for 67-76 A bodies

I recall that early Barracuda's (certain packages) had front fender liners, plastic red ones. Is that true? If so, does anyone have pictures of them? Has anyone fabricated fender liners for their A-body mopar? Brian

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

Just to follow up, I took the adjusters down 1/2 turn and it really quieted it down, runs great. FYI.

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

I spoke with the builder. He said the lifters have 0.200" leeway and they usually do 3/4 of a turn which comes to about .060". He suggested that I can take the adjusters down another 1/2 turn with no risk and it should quiet it down. I'll check it out, do the adjustment, go from there. Brian

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

How soon after? I don't want oil flying everywhere, so I'd have to put the covers back on, run it and then pull the covers to check. How fast do the lifters bleed down? Any way to check cold? Can't I just go through, check and set them all correctly when it's cold? Trouble is I don't know...

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

This is a dual plane intake, I believe the cam would be a new grind, as it was built by a commercial builder, Performance Injection Equipment, not sure which push rods they used. They are factory heads but aftermarket roller rockers. I'm using the oil the builder recommended, which is Lucas...

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

OK, it's a newly rebuilt engine. I pulled the valve covers, there is no sign of any contact with the valve covers and rockers. I suppose the next thing I could check, absent removing the intake, is the preload. Q: would the preload being not correct cause a ticking sound?

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

OK, thank you, yes, some have mentioned that "all magnums make noise, just use 20W-50 and it'll quiet it down". I'll check the valve covers and maybe go to heavier oil. Thanks all!

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

Thank you, why is the Magnum valve train so loud? I recall building 318, 340 and 360 LA's with my brothers, they were nice an quiet. I don't believe these are stock rockers, they are 1.6 rollers, but stock heads. The cam is duration @ .050: 216/224 lift: .506"/.506" 114 LSA, so not stock...

360 Magnum, stock heads, Ansen cast aluminum valve covers

Hi, I have a ticking noise in the top half of my newly built 360 Magnum engine. It runs great, has excellent oil pressure. I used Ansen cast aluminum valve covers for the Magnum (Magnum bolt pattern/gaskets not LA pattern). I'm wondering if I need spacers/if the rockers may be hitting the...

    360 Magnum valve train noise

OK, maybe I'll try that on the next oil change, thank you. The engine is a new build, so shouldn't be any of the things you outlined. Not an exhaust leak, but sounds similar.

    360 Magnum valve train noise

My 360 magnum is awesome. It made 375 hp/425 lb-ft of torque on the dyno. It has excellent oil pressure and runs smooth as a watch. No oil leaks, runs cool. I'm running FiTech TBI four barrel, it starts instantly, good response and runs great. I absolutely LOVE driving my A-body. My '67 dart...

    leaking oil pan, 360 Magnum

...the only downside I can see there is that the LA front U gasket fits the LA pan lip way better than the magnum gasket. Anyone have pics of how/where they cut the magnum gasket to mate with the LA U gasket?

    leaking oil pan, 360 Magnum

I think just hammering them into Magnum configuration as described by JBC426 sounds like an elegant solution. No need to fill with RTV and no need to modify the Magnum gasket.

    leaking oil pan, 360 Magnum

jbc426, in another thread on this forum, had a great idea, see quote below. "...I just hammered the front notches down flat on my LA 360 Milodon oil pan and used the one piece Magnum gasket and a small squirt of Permatex Ultra Seal in all 4 corners of the pan and on the threads of each oil pan...

Do you or anyone have any information on that scram speed gasket? There is a description but no pictures. brian
