    Manifold Lift Plate

Only time to use bolts with a plate is when you run long enough ones to put a nut on them to secure the plate, same as a stud. Sort of like you were going to pull an insert out. NEVER EVER EVER run a bolt into aluminum , bottom it out and then put MORE torque on it. EVER. You are hurting the...

    Caltracs with inboard springs

If the pivot plates have a bolt where it contacts the spring, applying pressure, that needs to have a tube/bar welded in place of it. Inboard pivots

    Performer 318/360 intake

Port match a 318/360 and they do really well. 318/360 is the lower RPM level so of course the AG is going to do better in a range the 318/360 wasn't designed for. Throw a 600 on it to choke it out even more, not making it to the higher range anyways. Same as the old 284 vs 292 cam choice. 292...

    Performer 318/360 intake

Plenty of stuff that is junk can run well. In the case of the Torker 340, there were a bunch of better available pieces to run out there. Same exercise as the guy that build a 650hp engine, bolts a stock torque converter to it, installs in a 15 seconds chassis and thinks a car that runs 11.0...

Torker II is nothing like the original doorstop, smelter material Torker 340.

    Manifold Lift Plate

Decent weld should tear the material. Another red herring. Never had one we built fail, nor have I had a purchased one fail. No idea about how the chinese weld stuff, I don't trust them at all. Don't let the engine bob on the hoist, letting it down and stop it quick... boing boing boing...

    Manifold Lift Plate

Anybody that's worked in a shop or engine building facility knows about the star ring. A piece of pipe with 3-4 bolts sticking out 90-120* apart, welded to the inside. 1/4, 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2" bolts stick out. Spin that one bolt into a hole in the block, swing the hook through, pick it up...

    Manifold Lift Plate

If manifold threads are good, use studs, and go. So much unfounded fear about those things. As someone mentioned, if you are scared to death that you are going to shear or strip out 4 thread holes in an alum intake manifold, back it up with a ratchet strap. Tensile strength for all materials...

    Performer 318/360 intake

JMO. it's only time. If you already have the tools to do it. Go for it. If you have to buy a bunch of stuff to accomplish it. PASS Would I tear apart an already running engine for this one process. No. For those that want that intake shootout link. Dyno-Testing Small-Block Intakes -...

    Performer 318/360 intake

For all the 318/360 performer haters. A couple of things I was around... port matched 318/360 with a 1" open spacer was only 5-7 hp behind a RPM AG/1" spacer on a 425hp 360 engine. Port match it... it will do good things! Plus if you step up a little it's already done.

I made a small block low mount alternator bracket

LOL only thing that tensioned was shoulders with some crosshecks clearing the crease! Hate that I can't skate any longer. Greg, Nice work on the alternator mount. Grumpy wouldn't have time to mount an alternator like that... too busy bithcin' about Mopars kicking his *** and lobbying for...

I made a small block low mount alternator bracket

You fixed something that was annoying you regarding how things were aligned. I did the same thing on a LA roller block, just a little more extreme. :) Out of the way and down low

    Swapping rear end question.

More shade tree hillbilly stuff. You can open up the alignment pin hole in the perch as well to allow the spring to not be stressed if that is a concern.

    Swapping rear end question.

The b swap without moving the perches has been done as long as these cars have been alive. Is it better to have the perches at 43" yes. Can a driver car live a long life with them at 44", absolutely.
