I Found & Rebuilt the Family Barracuda. Then Surprised Dad & Grandpa with the Finished Build.

I'm not surprised it is YT, I was kind of guessing that would be the answer. Not really sure what the logic is, but it happens on most videos I watch so either YT is giving me more ads for some reason, or they are just being heavy handed across the board. I know it isn't just this video, most...

I Found & Rebuilt the Family Barracuda. Then Surprised Dad & Grandpa with the Finished Build.

@slimjim, I've got a YT question for you. What determines the frequency and length of the ads that run during the videos? As a general rule, for channels I subscribe too (and I am a subscriber), I let the ads run just in case it makes a difference in income off the video. But I am getting...

what bolts on an eagle 5.7/6.4/6.2 are torque to yield/one time use?

The loctite could explain the requirement to replace them. Maybe some of the cost to?? Here's what I found for a RWD oil pan: Looks like there is a separate one for AWD, let me know if you need that instead. Looks like it has a different sequence due to the front diff?

what bolts on an eagle 5.7/6.4/6.2 are torque to yield/one time use?

I understand, but that type of bolt isn't the only reason to replace it, as you have pointed out. Here is the last paragraph in the article I linked above: I don't know, maybe the rod bolts are TTY, or maybe the factory just doesn't trust them. Maybe it is a good application of the term...

They do have a trial version. The only drawback is it shuts down every 15 minutes, but it can be reopened after that. Bit of a hassle, but still workable depending on what you are doing. And the trial doesn't expire beyond having to restart every 15 minutes.

what bolts on an eagle 5.7/6.4/6.2 are torque to yield/one time use?

No idea why they would want to replace the oil pan bolts. They can't be a stretch bolt, they are too small and short. Makes no sense, unless maybe a new bolt reduces the chances of an oil pan gasket leak and they are cheap enough (in the mind of the factory) so why not just swap them out.

what bolts on an eagle 5.7/6.4/6.2 are torque to yield/one time use?

Just to be clear, the rod bolts are not torque to yield bolts. They are a bolt that has a torque to angle process to tighten them, but that doesn't make them a torque to yield bolt. I know I am kind of harping on this, but the idea that all bolts with a torque to angle tightening sequence are...

To be clear, I wasn't trying to call you out or anything. I guess I just read "formerly" as one became the other and the former no longer exists. Just semantics.

what bolts on an eagle 5.7/6.4/6.2 are torque to yield/one time use?

I can't believe MMX would spread that around. They aren't torque to yield bolts, they use a torque to angle tightening procedure which is completely different. Sky did a pretty good explanation on his last video, I would guess you have seen it? That said, it does appear that the factory...

I am sort of in the same boat, but while I do still have access to AutoCAD I don't want to use it for personal stuff if possible. I did think about buying a copy of LT, but it's a fair bit of money and a yearly cost. I use QCad now for my personal drawings and was able to open my .dwg files...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

True, but it's also the emotional response that keeps people doing this stuff at all. Unfortunately we live in a society that values emotion over logic, and that will only ever end in ruin.

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

Except that now we have the internet. Back then, it was the guys you knew and raced with/against, mostly in the local towns. Now you have thousands reading what you just wrote and every one of them has a different take and opinion on it. And then you add in the "keyboard warrior" mentality of...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

How much do you drive your old car compared to your Challenger? Not poking at you, just curious. I had a '15 R/T 6M at one point. I had my '74 Duster at the same time, and while I still drove the Duster and messed with it, the majority of the time I drove the Challenger. Not that the Duster...

    EFI to replace Edelbrock carb

I wouldn't do it for all old school cars. But see post #52 for some of my reasons for some builds. Maybe new cars have spoiled me, but I sure like the drivability I see with the new stuff. Not going to build a 302 with a carb that makes 480HP and that anyone can drive, let alone a 378 that...
