@matthon My ‘79 Magnum is currently, what I’d called, pretty quite with the ability to speak at a slight up tone in the voice. Bare metal floors currently. Carpet and sound deadened will go a long way.
Hooker 1-3/4 into true 2-1/2 duals with long Dyno Max super turbos. This will be addressed...
Agreed. I had a 2bbl. 318 Duster with a manual 3spd. Deep first gear as well. 3.21 gears and stock tires. I found that racing the first gear up high is just like you said. IMO, you have the non experienced over play the deep gear and big drop into second as a really bad thing. I didn’t find it...
The aluminum OD case transmission is not for hot rods. They are best used behind stock and stock ish engines looking for light weight and mileage. There is nothing wrong with them per sai, just aluminum is easier to trash behind some power.
Also the gear splits of the OD transmission is a bit...
Because not everyone is on the internet picking up the latest news on people reporting on the internet of their broken/failing parts if, IF it gets reported. Also as well if, IF the person reads the report that may only be found on one forum.
How many MoPar forums are there?
Do you read them...
There are several 4 speed transmissions that all have the 1:1 final drive gear. One of them has the low first gear if memory serves. The ratios are on line.
What is it your looking to get from the swap?
I’d speak with Dan Brewer myself.
Actually, I have and will again. Anytime I have called...
I have found that a 3.21/3.23 or better, a 3.55 is best for a street strip effort ratio with the low first gear. Any rear end ratio higher will (IMO) need a taller than normal street tire to help offset what becomes an extreme first gear ratio.
Lower than 3.21/3.23, the cars final drive gearing...
FACTS!
Even turbo cars that can run 9’a and 8’s are not out and about as everyday cars. It’s mostly just not practical. While I know a few people that run around with insane power, they don’t use it a lot. (The cars power)
Ditto
Ditto. Enough lift to take advantage of the heads flow capability.
Or at least try.
That made me wonder how many people are going to try to go for that as well and the. How many machinists will have to explain it all to them.
That was exactly what I was thinking. What the heck is...
If you’re going to run exhaust manifolds, bring your own exhaust piping. Dyno shops are not really catering to engines with exhaust manifolds.
“Loose Power?” I’d call it stifle power.
Potato, Patato…

MoPar used to sell rotating assembly parts to have their engine restroked to fit into the old class racing rule of a max of 355ci.
In my particular case, I needed bearing spacers for the small journal (340 sized) crank into the large journal (360) block.
The 360 was bored .030 for...
