    Classic Auto Air Install Experience

I live in the Pacific Northwest right near Puget Sound. Until about 20015 I would have said that air conditioning for a car or a house was a waste of money... now I have both.

    Help please...Dart swinger elictrical problems.

can you provide a picture of the wiring at the firewall with the 30 amp fuse. Folks are making assumptions about what it is. a picture of the bulkhead connector that shows which wire is fused will clear that up. Your car is 55 years old (like my 70 Darts). The designers never thought your car...

actual need for ballast resistor with electronic ignition?

I converted this car to electronic ignition with a Direct Connection kit around 1983 and it has always had a 2 connection ballast resistor that Mopar supplied with the kit. I presume that the FBO ECU is designed for 12 volts as is the 6AL box in the MSD system. Still hoping for confirmation...

actual need for ballast resistor with electronic ignition?

I have three LA small block engines in street driven cars. All 1970 Darts with factory wiring. All use Pertronix Flame Thrower coils. The one that has an MSD system and the one that uses a Mopar electronic ignition distributor with and FBO brand ECU have both had the Ballast Resistor...

1969 Barracuda with some possible rare options

The rear defogger option would only be seen as "not particularly desirable" by someone who doesn't drive their car. Having landed a Dart that originally came with that option, it was useful enough that I bought and installed the option on both of my other Darts...

The case of the too long water pump/timing cover bolts - 2nd edition

So I have seen documented here on FABO several times the result of using too long timing cover bolts at the bottom, which results in the bolt contacting, distorting, even cracking the bottom of the front cylinder, resulting in havoc when the engine is started. I believe that there is even a...

[WANTED] 1970 Dart Swinger Bucket Seats, Seat Belts Black Wanted

FYI - the metal seat frame is the same as for a 70 Challenger - all the difference is in the seat buns and covers. All available new, but most seat frame sources list them as only 70 Challenger.

    Reproduction 70-71 Dart Grille

Unless OER has changed something the grille was painted in the pattern for 71 and the headlight doors were painted in the pattern for 1970. Identical grilles, but it meant you had to paint either the grille or the headlight doors. I tried to get OER to tell me what color silver paint they...

starting issue with mostly stock 318

What I find puzzling is that I have been driving this car for years and this is a new issue. I'm going to try the isolator gasket recommended before considering a whole return system. Is it possible that the carb is just worn out and the heat soak is building pressure in the carb and leaking...

starting issue with mostly stock 318

for many years I have had a vane type electric fuel pump that I only use to fill the carb before starting. It doesn't seem to help in this case. I have driven this car for 65,000 miles since 1989. This is new...
