Good- non Mopar distributor electronic information needed
Have a Procomp electronic distributor, with there Procomp Speedmaster pc91 high energy coil . having problems with starting car. car ran fine when parked at the end of the season last year. Car has been stored in the garage all winter, tried to start, has a manual fuel pump so it takes time to fill up the carb. the car would normally start after about trying about 3 times. This year car just would not start, sprayed a little starting fluid fired up, took for a short drive to fill up the gas tank, at gas station had a hard time to restart had to crank and crank pumping gas finally started , took home as pulling into the garage car cut out would not restart.
Fast forward today, checked all wires for loose connections, check coil for output , tried to start, playing with gas pedal and cranking finally started, let it warm up, wanted to check timing seems like it was not right, took of the vacuum hose from the distributor , before I could block the vacuum line the engine just quit running, tried to restart could not get it to fire off, seems like maybe something in the Procomp dist. may have failed/or failing.
Looking for aftermarket unit to replace the Procomp unit , nothing cheap but not high end either, just a very good reliable middle ground type.
