    1973 duster temp sensor question

Honestly I feel like its not grounding to the intake. Take a spare sender and hook it up to the cable and then hold the threads to some exposed metal and see if you get some action.

    1973 duster temp sensor question

Even new ones can be iffy. The fluctuating voltage is perfectly normal. The problem has to be with the sender if grounding the wire gets the gauge up. Are you sure that the sender itself is grounding as it should?

Best Carter 4 Barrel Carburetor for a stock 273?

That’s what I was saying until it was 41 degrees and I was pressed for time early in the morning but couldn’t get the damn thing to idle. Holley VS with electric choke was a good deal. Makes life easier. Start and 10 seconds later pull away like it has efi.

Can front disc brake swap work with OEM wheels?

14” SBP steelies do not clear the calipers on the SBP 63-76 (dr diff) kit without a spacer and considerable grinding. Ask me how I know. 14BBP definitely work though, they came stock.

Inside tire wear on the front.

How does it steer? Does it want to dart side to side? Often you can feel generally what’s up with the front end. What does the eyeball alignment inspection say?

Any tips to get my steering wheel all the way on?

You should just be able to crank the big nut down until its all the way on the splines. Remove the horn pad and you’ll see what I mean. Be gentle.

Massive caster variance Side to side

The wheels do turn somewhat depending on the caster. Locking the brakes stops this. I’m not how much of a difference it makes.

Massive caster variance Side to side

Where are your cam bolts in the adjustment range? Also can you see by eye that one side has negative caster when you turn the steering wheel? If so the inside wheel would be negatively cambered.

Carb choice for a mutt motor.

600 sounds fine. If it doesn’t stumble at wot, it’s not too big. I suspect it is effectively a stock 318.

Exhaust Manifold options for a 5.9 magnum and 64 dart

There are some mismatch issues between the 340 manifolds and magnum heads. A thread or two on here discusses that.

    How to fix steering slop?

Yeah, that’s how stock mopar power steering boxes are. Your options are to drop a smooth g for the upgrade (super tight), go to manual (better but still can be a little sloppy), or just deal with it.

    ride height question

I shaved the bump stops a little to get a bit more clearance. They can be close, but ideally not resting on the stops.

    Driver's side manifold

Wondering about manifolds for my '69 dart 360 magnum. Manual steering, column shift for now but may convert to floor shift. I am wondering whether it will be possible to run a magnum manifold on the driver's side or whether I should track down a 340 manifold. Of course the other option is to...

    Vapor lock- additive?

Well most of us are running mechanical pumps… And mechanical pumps are usually worse off in this metric since they put way more heat into the fuel than an electric pump. But to be honest I don’t think it’s a big problem either way. If you have an intake with the exhaust crossover blocked and...

    Vapor lock- additive?

I daily drive my dart in the LA area. I run a carb spacer and drive enough that the stuff in the tank never goes bad (fill up whole tank with 87E10 every 7-10 days). I have not had any problems with vapor lock or percolation with this setup.

Solid strut rod bushing on stock strut rods...good idea?

I think they would not have enough give for up and down movement and get torn up because they are too brittle. The front bushings take a hell of a beating and have to have a little give to work properly.

1970 Duster Front Brake Conversion Kit for SBP

You could track down a kelsey hayes small bolt brake setup which will work with your upper control arms, but they can be expensive and hard to get parts for. Another option is to use the dr diff brake kit which converts to an oem style 73-76 brake setup and can be ordered with small bolt...

    Any Pertronix experts here?

Usually the concern is about using a coil with too low of a primary resistance, which can pull too much current and burn stuff up. My instinct is that you will be fine with the 1.5 but will just get less voltage to the plugs.
