The Great Pumpkin - '71 Duster

re the rear firewall, don't forget to block off the rear roof pillars and behind the rear door cards too. a fire/blast can blow over the wheel wells up the rear pillars and forward to the 'b' posts. neil.

    1966/'69 A100 Twins Build

it's not like it's somewhere you need to squeeze past it all the time so i'd be fine with that too. neil.

    Long Tube Header Bolts

if you find the longer bolts won't go 'straight' due to how close the bend in the tube is then fit those first on just a couple of threads. that way you can keep the header flange away from the head face 'til the awkward ones are all started. neil.

what about one of those memory foam mattress 'topper' things. they say they're good to use direct on the floor so should be ideal. neil.

    Stroke a 318

there are several 318/390's on here that rev fine, as mentioned it's more to do with heads/cam/induction. at the end of the day the 392 will only be 0.050" under what's considered the 'majic' 4" bore of a 360 so not what you could really call a small bore anyway. neil.

Cost for labor on stroker build?

i have a life. i have a car too unlike some on here. it may not be perfect but i'm working towards it. it's what you do when 'just the right car' either isn't out there or you're too tight to pay for it. you just make what you have into what you want.

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

scott, maybe it'd be nice if your 'resto boards' shown next to the car had a 'header' on them advertising sean's business as it would almost certainly bring work his way. it'd help his pain i'm sure, lol. just don't tell anyone what you paid. it's a great car as said by everyone who's been...

    Just curious about head markings

maybe they thought the 'roughness' would help stop the header gaskets blowing/slipping out, lol.

Cost for labor on stroker build?

if you can find a machine shop that speaks fluent mopar and you'll find them easier to work with. neil.

1969 Race Dart w/ 426 Hemi- garaged for 45+ years

you obviously weren't having a dig at scott, that's clear. almost every post on the subject you say he's a good guy and it's not his fault. seems it was just a mis communication issue going on through the project. i often do more than i'm asked on customers cars even though i know i won't get...

    65 Barracuda daily driver

i wouldn't use just water. coolant/antifreeze has corrosion inhibitors. if you've ever seen an internally furred up ally intake etc you'll know plain water's not good. neil.

    '69 Valiant 2DR Project

now it seems to be fuel related why not just swap injector 5 with another that you know works? if 5 still won't fire it's the wiring not the injector and no money spent. neil.

    A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

if 'the build' does it for you maybe say in your advert you might take a project in px. some one getting nowhere with their car may want one ready to drive but worry about what to do with their project. neil.

what's wrong with a prop rod like lots of modern cars have? no moving parts to go wrong, no leaking gas struts and so on. simple is good and reliable as a rock. neil.
