It's no wonder the Slant 6 is so great!

She's a princess. I'm a printer. Same car interest. Good enough!

It's no wonder the Slant 6 is so great!

Our three-year-old '69 225 /6, loaded with 1,200 lbs of stuff in the trunk, back seat and roof rack for a cross-country move, went across Texas from the western panhandle to New Orleans, a little over 1,000 miles, in almost exactly 10 hours, including stops. The usual driving speed was between...

[WANTED] Front Brake Drums for 1973-76 Valiant

It's possible that changing from 9-in to 10-in will require a different spindle and bearing as well. Is that correct?

[WANTED] Front Brake Drums for 1973-76 Valiant

Would an earlier 9-in drum fit on the '73? I had a '69 and it was considerably simpler, and lighter.

[WANTED] Front Brake Drums for 1973-76 Valiant

Will do that. Thanks. The well-worn drums needing replacement are seriously over-designed. No wonder they were discontinued.

Looking for two front 9-in drums in like-new condition. OR . . . two front 10-in drums with backing plate assemblies and hubs. Possibly available after a drum to disc conversion (see next post).

    Irregular Rough Running

This mechanical problem, among many others, was present when the car was purchased. After two extensive rounds of replacements (including gas filters), gas tank cleaning, and a carburetor rebuild, this running issue remains. Now work through the group's suggestions!

    Irregular Rough Running

Thanks, everybody, for your insights, comments and suggestions! I'll begin triage and post again when the problem is solved.

    Irregular Rough Running

My 1973 198ci Slant 6 has an occasional rough idle. So much so that it stops running. However if shut off for an hour or so, it runs fine -- almost as smooth as new. The fuel system is OK (carb rebuilt recently), as are the emission controls. Has new vacuum hoses, spark plugs and wires...

Looks like I can use these. How would you like to be paid? Check or Venmo? After several bad experiences I don't use PayPal.

[WANTED] Instrument Panel for '73 Valiant

Is the 74 a 120mph speedometer? At some point it was switched to 100mph.

    Greetings!

My son had a loose steering wheel nut. It, and the steering wheel came off during a race. But for that he would have won the season championship. He, too, is a bit of a loose nut.

    Greetings!

Have spent a few decades as a printer and am a Plymouth Valiant fan. Prints Valiant seems like an appropriate user name. Have run the wheels off a new '69 Valiant 225 SS (in 20+ years and 220,000+ mi). Just purchased a '73 Valiant 198 SS with 64,000 mi (pics attached). Will be needing...
