I think if you look, - all the large shaped tin, " floats " on the frames. Hood. Roof. Trunk, all seem to be floating on the frames. They need to expand and contract, - the structure/frame, not so much .

I was taught to slip the nose into place it kinda "fits" into the frame. Then dabs of seam/?sealer , then kinda close rear section, hinging from front, adjust and secure it with a screw each rear corner, let it set. Carefully Test fit Spot weld where original spots 2 turned out really well...

Expansion . Not sure I'd put weight on it or it'll have dips etc, not a smoooooth curve .

I used seam sealer when changing skins. Something that doesn't harden .

Maybe for some stuff, mine were AMD, still had part of the sticker, and black They cut them off a complete floor, very accommodating. Outstanding service. Good luck

I recently got front floorplans from Rick@Laysons, he cut them off a full floor. I'm just going to use pieces to fill the holes in the floor. Hope you're feeling better Rick .

They're in a bubble pack on the "HELP" parts tree/wall at my parts store.

I was looking thru one of those bubble-pack trees for headlite adjuster hardware, there were misc sizes/varieties of the black plastic "buttons" with the "pin" to secure plastic body panels. I be tempted to see if one of them without the pin could be that anchor. Musing

I just got the frame rails and lower sections of the inner fender from @crackedback to do similar repair. He may have that top section for that repair. Good luck .

My son has to file key blanks for misc locks, custom. Call a locksmith .

That's why I suggested lifting the door. I have been able to get a pry bar under the door from the back seat, and just gentle pry up on the door from the sill.

Try lifting it as pulled ?

I use black shoe polish to get rid if all the " white pinstripes" after "waxing", also enhance black handles, trim with can of black shoe polish, soft brush to apply and another to buff. Try it, you'll like it . Not much real "wax" anymore, most time its just silicon .

I transplanted the complete rear sheet metal/trunk section from a 4 door onto a rusted out 2 dr. from wheel archs back, sleeved frame, you'd never know .

When I read the title a coupla days ago, I immediately thought of all the chebbie guys stuffing cloths in the filler tubes at the drag strip, so it didn't puke fuel at launch to the 60' . lol

Bottom of tire well holds up 150ish lbs of gas, and spare tire, over bumps .

I'm using a 5" Bosch electric DA that I really like, in ignorance I admit . The discs won't stick, the original loop pad lasted for years, then wore out, disc wouldn't stick regardless of clean etc, bought a new adhesive loop disc for old pad, lasted about 10 discs, disintegrated, bought a whole...

Wait for some body folk to chime in, that last pic make me think some adjustments may be required, It's an art .
