Hey guys! I've got a 65 cuda 273 2 barrel and am looking for the correct heater hose routing. Some I see going over to the right inner fender and fastening to that before going to the heater core. My inner fender has no holes in that mounting area. Others take a more direct route and just use a metal strap(s)? to bind the two hoses together. What's factory correct?

Also, the ground strap between the engine and firewall, where exactly are the two fastening points?

Long live the FISH:cheers:

Not sure if this helps - but - for a 66 dart the two hoses were routed over the passenger side valve cover, sort of close to the carb. Not sure on a 65, if someone has a FSM for a 65 the routing might be in there. I know the FSM's from 65 to 66 changed alot, the 66 FSMs have a ton more information in them.

I thought the heater hoses were fastened to the passenger's side inner fender only if the car was equipped with the Commando 273ci?

I just looked at my 1965 service manual. It shows the 2bbl heater hoses going over the valve cover and the "High Performance" routing over to the inner fender.

My 64 Dart, 273/2bbl, hoses were like the hipo picture above. The ground strap bolts to the back of the passenger cylinder head, already tapped, then bolts to the firewall. There should be a threaded hole below and right of the blower motor...

My car as the heater hoses were from the factory,

I can understand why they moved the water hoses farther away from the unsilenced aiir cleaner but.. I never quite understood why the Commando valve cover has a hanger attached for one hose and not both.

Thanks Don, Good photos. I believe you are correct since my 2bbl rt inner fender has never been drilled for a mounting bracket. I also wonder if the assembly plant may have something to do with it. Were 65 cuda's made in more than one location?
