I took the number off the door jamb in the front of the driver's door(1967 Barracuda) and ran it thru the vin decoder.Thought I would get more info.Told me where it was made and the model of the car, came up empty on the engine. The number as I read it was BH29072313004. This is the tag on the inner fender, does it give you more info? Whatever help you can give me is appreciated. If not,I will sleep just as well,thx.8)

Thanks for your help. The color really interests me because the car is red now but I have areas where the paint is chipped and its yellow on the previous layer. Thought maybe that was the original color.

Lay upside down and have a look up under your dash, you should see some of the original colour up there?Hope this helps you find the original colour?

Thanks Scott.I've been in that position a few times but wasn't looking for paint color.I will take another look.8)

G0 is the decor group, T4 is the vacuum guage, and I think the M2 is bumper guards but not 100% sure.
Thanks, Mark

Alright Dave I tried the fender tag decoderr and it gave me this:

CAR: Dodge Dart 2 Door Hardtop
ENGINE: 273cid 2-bbl V8
TRANSMISSION: 3-Speed Automatic
TIRES: Unknown tire code
BUILD DATE: June 30.
AXLE: 2.94 Rear Axle Ratio
INTERIOR: Premium Trim Grade, Vinyl Bucket Seats. Copper Interior.
PAINT: Monotone Dark Copper Metallic Paint.
OTHER: Medium Copper Metallic Upper Door Frame Color.

the codes 68Barracuda gave you are correct!
Which is correct!

Could have been yellow one time or that was a paint they used on areas at the plant in 1967. I know my trunk colors inside were copper so i always though that was my orginal colour, but that was just the quick spray apparently on the line in the plants.

Is G0 really the decor group?
Decor Group is 360, Formula S is 367 and F7 on the tag, and it makes sense that G0 could be 360, yet one of the decoders list F0 as Decor Group.

M2 is Hamtramck.

Send $45 to Chrysler for the build card.

I don't think M2 is a plant code. The VIN has the plant code as the 7th digit already and since all the Barracudas that year were made in Hamtramck, why would they need another code for it in the middle of the fender tag where all the equipment codes are located? I've never seen an F0 code on anything. Does anyone have that code on their tag to share with the rest of us?
Thanks, Mark

M2 is definitely Plant. I got my IBM punch card, aka build card, from Chrysler. Column 22 is labeled PLANT and has a punch at row 2: so 222. My car has very few options, 4 to be exact, all accounted for on the fender tag, with M2 being the only one left and 222 being the only 'punch' left on the build card.
Other members had also informed me that it was the plant code before I received my build card.
I've noticed that fender tags with a date of September through December; 9, A, B, or C, do not have the M2, which would be a build date in 1966, but fender tags with 1967 dates, January through June; 1-6, have the M2.
I've never seen a 68 tag with the M2, but if one does it could mean something different.
