Due to the warm weather, the 3-7pm Saturday car shows at the Rt28 Burger King are already going.

This past Saturday there was a nice showing of cars but only a few Mopars. I had stopped by late the previous Saturday but there weren't that many cars out.

This week the weather was beautiful and my son asked if we could go back. I fired up the dart with out even taking the mcDonald's trash. I met Jim_68Cuda when he recognized my Dart from other posts.

There was a beautiful black Duster with white stripes that has about the straightest black paint job I've ever seen.

There was also a one-family 68 Dart GTS and a 6-pack Challenger.

C'mon guys, lets dig out the Mopars, we were under represented. :D

I'll post the pics later.

I live in Manassas and I've been to the BK twice. Planning on going there more in the near future. I have a 70' Dodge Dart 4 dr sedan with a slant six. The car is not pretty but I've only had since october. The next time you plan to go send me a pm and i'll try to meet you there!

I pulled apart my interior for deadener and POR. I plan to blast the body and paint but waiting for the cash. Mine stayed garaged last season and prob. won't drive this year as well. No money.
I am in a vortex and unable to decide to keep the '73 front end or convert to the '72 dart front end. My second issue is what 72 grille to use. I have both years but cant decide which to use. I think they both look cool.....
In the meantine, I have been hoarding fenders the past 2 years.
I am dying to unleash my crate motor. That will be the extent of my enjoyment......Depressed................ I will have to settle for shaved ice at the ice cream stand..................

I'm made it to the Manassas cruise in three times so far this year, and have already added about 60 photos to my Facebook Manassas cruise in albums (most of the rest of the photos were taken last year on various Saturdays).
New cars we hadn't seen before this last Saturday included an over the top Hemi 68 Barracuda with only two miles on it since it's build was completed, and a 69 1/2 Six Pack Super Bee that one of the regulars just bought a month ago, and an Allard, which was only the third one I've ever seen. Allards were made in the early 50's and were british sports cars with American V-8s. This one had a Cadillac engine, but others were built with the early Chrysler Hemis.
The first link below includes the most recent photos from Manassas.

Went to the cruise in last weekend. Took my wife's car as the motor in my Dart was on an engine stand. Met some nice folks and am looking forward to taking my Dart there soon. A lot of nice cars there from classic to modern.

I just recently moved to the area (see Greetings from DC post http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=192468 )
I stumbled on a small show at a high school in Falls Church a few weeks and found a vast mopar under representation there as well. I hope to help change that once I get my cars up here.

I have been an active member (VP for a while) in the North Georgia Mopar Club for years, where we had strong ties to the likes of Mike Buckle (one of the original Ramchargers), Herb McCandless, Rob Wolf and others. The NGMC is a very charitable organization, sending support boxes to overseas troops to the tune of about 30 boxes per year, giving away student scholarships and supporting smaller shows at churches and civic organizations. I had the distinct priveledge of putting about 200 hours into the restoration of a '66 Charger for a member of the 82nd airborne at no to cost to him.

From what I have seen, there is no organized mopar club in this area (I apologize if there is and I missed it) and I would like to see that change. I have support from the NGMC to create a sister organization here with the lofty dreams of maybe growing the whole club. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

The Chrysler Product Owners Club (CPOC), is the local Mopar club that puts on the most local Washington DC area shows, most of which are at dealers. There is a small charge for membership which gets you a monthly newsletter, but usually no cost for entering you car in the shows. Usually, if you enter a car in their shows you even get a free lunch.

Heres a few pictures from a couple of the CPOC shows from 2011

Another Mopar club in the area is the Rappahannock Mopar Club. This one operates out of Stafford, Virginia, and is mostly an on'line club with almost daily e-mails. They do put on a nice show at a Chrysler dealership in Culpepper, Virginia to benefit The Wounded Warrior Project.

Usually, if the weather is decent, we get a fairly decent turnout of Mopars at the cruise in at Manassas on Saturdays, and thats sort of a way to stay in touch between Mopar shows.

There is also a Maryland Mopar Club that no longer has a website, but is mainly on Facebook these days.

Theres also a Modern Mopar club that does the Moparlooza events, but their shows seldom attract many of the classic A, B, C, and E bodies or any other classic Mopars. Last year they tried to take over the annual CPOC Club show at Manassas Chrysler Dodge, and tried to charge the CPOC members to enter their cars in "their" show. That one didn't go over very well, so I hope they don't do that again.
