We are busy fitting the engine in the car. I have purchased the competition engineering motor plate Competition Engineering Front Motor Plate. To be used with the Meziere back off plate and the Meziere water pump.

Please refer to the picture below. My concern is water leakage. Right now we have the engine plate facing against the pump cover, then the engine plate and afterwords the block off plate and then the water pump. I think we are doing something wrong here... BTW our plan is to make a gasket to be placed in the middle of the front cover and the engine plate...

Please comment based on your experience.

Looks good. Should be timing cover, gasket, motor plate, gasket, block off plate.

Mine never leaked. In fact I still have it somewhere out in the shop.

The only thing will be anything you drive off the front will need to be correctly aligned.

Looks like a nice piece. What are you using for engine limiters? And are you using a mid plate?

Well your statement give me a some piece of mind... I was almost in the process to order this one on the picture

So then, I will make another gasket to place between the front cover and the engine plate. Concerning engine limiters, we add two tubes to the chassis to bolt up the engine plate, and we will add another cross tube right on top of the distributor area. Here we will add two engine limiters. For a mid plate yes..

"IF" I were to do it again, I'd forego the Meziere front mounted pump and go with their remote pump that attaches to the radiator. I would have freed up a ton of room on the front of the engine. Andy F makes a plate that works sweet with that set up. Like the one in the last picture (which is his), but with AN fittings.

Sweet.... nice set up.

What I was wondering, is why does comp engineering cut the motor front plate with the void form of the front pump, instead of just full plate like the rest of other plates.

If I understand what you are asking, the space is left open for running an OE type water pump.
