PowerPipe Exhaust for slant/6

They are all tough crowd's. I would think something is wrong with the world more than usual if it was not that way. :toothy10:

Well I see it as a positive thing in the end, IF you come through with a good product. Cause if you win US over, you've made an accomplishment. I do have to salute you for your tenacity with the project. Not sure that I could do it. Now hurry the hell up and make sumthin good. lol

I asked this before, but I assume you didn't
see it... so, I'll ask you again: At one time, I seem to remember you mentioned something about doing a slant six turbo header.

Was that you, or am I dreaming?

If indeed, it WAS you, where are you on that project? Seems there are a lot of folks on this BB that are in the market for something like that.... even a flange-modiified cast exhaust manifold.

What's up with that???

Hello Bill. Yes that was me, this style has been compleated and will be tested with the new turbo header design being built now.

Hope to have the new design ready and for sale by march. Notice the flange will accept T-3 OR T-4 for up grading if needed!!

After I complete the early A body 170 configuration. I will be making 2 different style of the turbo header. One will have turbo mount close to the motor the other putting the turbo where the battery was. Have a good day Don

Man, that looks good to me!!! I hope you get it tested and on the market, soon. I KNOW there are people on this BB who will jump on this!!!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Hey mister twister... maybe i missed something but did u ever post a price on the power pipe??

Nice inventory!!!

Be sure to include the turbo header in the next list; I had no less that TEN people asking to buy a copy of our turbo header (none for sale, sadly) and I was sorry to have to turn them down. I think you're gonna sell a LOT of those (turbo) units!!!

Good luck!

Pretty is as pretty does... We don't have ANY information as to how ours is going to perform, yet.

That design of yours looks REAL GOOD to me...

I'm anxious to see one in person!!!

Keep us informed as to your progress, please!!!

Yes, the ones listed are ready for shipping. The site will have some new styles in March, including the PowerPipe-TC turbo connection. I am in school for a few days keeping certification’s up to date. We will get in here this evening to answer any more questions Don. 8)

Track testing has been done on the stock bore 225, 3,250 pound street car.
PowerPipe-DC vs PowerPipe-PF. I have been running this style for a while. Bringing the ET from 20.2 seconds to 16.3 with a bunch of bolt ons.

Now running this style. PowerPipe-PF These are equal length and bend design front and rear!!!

The only change made to the car was the exhaust system. Now with my X and Y pipe design with my 2 chamber muffler. I also changed the pipes to 2" from the headers back. It was 2 1/4" all the way back.

Before I went out we also mounted my 63-76 A-Bodie's frame ties, yes we added around 50 to 60 pounds to the car? Adding weight slows you down right?

Without any change at all, first pass was slower 16.5 breaking up on the top end, it has never spit and spuddered like that before.
First adjustment backing the timing from 28 to 23deg total car droped to 16.1 faster than ever.

Going the right way so, I backed it off a little more to 18deg car went 15.9 this was the first 15 second pass!!! After running two more times without adjustment.

Here I backed it down to 12deg for my last few runs, I,m glad I did cause the car droped to 15.8 and picked up 3mph. Almost a 1/2 of second gain with the new exhaust and added weight.

I like the PF design, easy to install, looks cool and worked for a gain over the second design I did. That is what I was shooting for. The next test, I will change the PF design with the true flow design.

This was only a test, I repeat this was only a test subject to change per vehicle if the whole system was not installed.

So, are those total timing figures? Seems awfully low.

Been running Clifford shorties,1 1/2 headers on my race car with the Clifford intake.Am going to try the Aussiespeed intake and want to also try 1 5/8 headers.I cant just bolt a set of any 1 5/8 headers on it because I have modified the car with a rear steer toyota rack.Wondering what the primary length should be for a pure race car,I shift at 6,000 rpm.Have been 11.50 at 115mph and I want more.Would bee very interested in some Hooker headers, cond not important cause I will bee cutting them up to fit my car, dented, rusty, ugly a plus.Guzzi Mark

any stainless ?

Yes we could do stainless or aluminum. It would be a special order thing though. We are trying to keep the cost down for the person who doe’s a general build up. If that is possible!!

Hello Mark, The primary tube at 41" length good up to 7000RPM The 31" length good to 5000RPM the length of primary tubes for your RPM I feel should be at least 36"
As far as the size, the calc I use shows that 16ga or 18ga for weight savings, is calling for 1.90" or 1.92" for all out race I would go to 2" primary tubes. The set I’m doing now is 1 3/4" with my style bender these will be very close to the 1 5/8" your talking about. This is an open header calculation. If you are bringing the pulses back together this changes a little bit. JMO Don :thumleft:

I will need to run them to a y pipe and flang it for a muffler for my local track.Muffler I have now is a 3 inch open one that really doest do anything but I have to have it to get tru tech.Wish you were closer,I would have you make me a system.I can do it myself but dont know what would bee best.Mark

Wow, I heard the 6 cant even fill the stock exhaust manifolds, let alone headers. But Ill soon find out....

I like what I have read here. But has anyone bought a set for a stock/6 and what were the results?

What's the outlet flange diameter on the PowerPipe Dual?

Who did you hear this from? The stock exhaust manifold is an extremly restrictive design. I put long tubes on a 67 Dart with a 225 and it upped the power quite a bit,and I was still running the stock 1 bbl. Saw about a 5 mpg. increase to boot.
