WOW!!!!!
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zadq9usA2SQ&feature=related"]Crush Em !!! ...illegal street racers cars crushed - YouTube[/ame]

Instead of taking apart the car and selling the parts to get much needed money for the department, they crush the cars or blow them up.....really smart!!!

Well the parts are stolen like the engine and such. But you can sell wheels and body parts.

I agree Hemi. A group of genasses, I mean genious' running that operation isn't it? Lol

I know guys with old muscle that have been bagged racing around LA and none of the cars were impounded, just the rice...

nobody needs civics anyhow... cept my step mas haha i think thats a little extreme but id rather see a crushed car then a crushed person

Rice packs better I guess.:D
They just want those young (no real experience wannabee's) off the freakin streets.

they should have just gotten groceries like those cars are meant to be used for.

Why not part the cars and send the drivers and all family members back to Mexico. They will bring others across and it will build up our parts inventory.

Kinda funny story:
Knew a guy who had a blue 68 mustang. Used to burn out down the street and LOVED challenging the local ricers. Got popped by local cop. his son (who drove a Subaru) ratted him out. got a laundry list of charges and lost the car supposedly to the crusher. Month later that same cop owned a red 68 mustang lol.

They got what they deserved.

Cool vid.
Why wouldn't they take the wheels off and recycle them too like the engines and rads?
They're worth quite a lot in scrap alone.

Typical Government, missing the big revenue stream. They could sell those cars at auction to some dimwits who will street race them. Then they can impound them and sell them at auction again to some dimwits who will street race them. Then they can impound them again.....

It's not Iran-Contra, but it would put some more cops on the streets......

If we did that, It would be Grand Theft Auto. But it's ok if the cops do it... NOT!

If they did that to MY car, I would have to take out one or two of theirs to get even...

But yeah, if it's a ricer, I'm cool with it....

...................Ya, there just on a power trip...........dont care about anybody or anything.........as long as they get there rocks off..............kim..........

IIRC, the law as written does not allow them to sell confiscated items in this case. I'm no fan of the PD, but, this case is the way the legislature wrote the law, they are just applying it.

Yes, I've seen the same thing with confiscated goods, nice stuff ends up being owned by some of the PD that took it. Pretty shady stuff.

Another drag strip or two would help ths little proublem. One thats open to street racers more than once a month would be nice too.

I've seen a nice vehicle or two here around Daytona that has anti-drug messages on it and says that the vehicle was confiscated from a drug dealer. Good for anti-drug promotion on the street as well as at schools & such.

Hopefully the state of Calif. is smart enough to do something like that with at least a few vehicles.

If they did that to MY car, every scumbag associated with the confiscation would have an enemy for life.....and I mean life. This infringes on private property rights and I'm sure the gov't just loves "testing the waters" on doing just that. Yeah, me too....**** the rice, but it's the principle here. It could very well be your classic. I think they do this on drug busts and maybe prostitution busts but auction 'em.

The NYPD had a couple of mustangs that they stole.... or should I say confiscated back in the late 90's for street racing that they dressed up as cop cars with lettering on them and the usual police equipment. They swapped out the slicks for street tires but they left the lopey cam and loud exhaust on them so they sounded pretty bad ***. I dont think having a cop drive around in a lowered honda civic with neon lights under it would have the same effect as a cop driving around in an 11 sec mustang though but it would be better than just destroying them, but in my opinion it's still theivery either way.
