Steak 'N Shake anyone???

Well, it's 12:40am, and we're all heading out to get a VERY late dinner at Steak 'N Shake. Anybody else ever eat there? It's hard to beat their hand-dipped milkshakes. Their steakburgers are awesome and their fries are pretty good, but I miss their baked beans. I know I'm going to pay for this later, but I can't help it. Some sacrifices must be made.
 
I just got done smoking out the local huddle house in my dart. It's alot like waffle house but its for the real hillbillies.
 
The last Steak n Shake I believe I ate at was in Springfield, but that was in 2005! lol

They don't have em here in Colorado that I know of. My wife is a native here and when I asked her if there was one here she was like, "What's that?"
 
I'm sure there is a place to smoke out in Colorado...maybe hit up garden of the gods and lay down a nice patch.

Anyway, we just got home. I love coupons! And Happy Hour! And Kids Eat Free all Weekend! There were five of us, three adults and two kids. We all ate very well, and our bill (plus tip) was only $21. There are very few places to eat like Steak 'N Shake left. If you haven't tried it, and you have the chance, I highly recommend it.
 
STEAK&SHAKE is good food ! Like to stop at em when on the road .

Must be a Hillbilly thing :D we have a Huddle House and 2 Waffle Houses here in J town :coffee2:
 
Steak N Shake is OK. ever dump your beans on your fries? Did it on accident, pretty damn tasty!
 
We have three. There used to be two more, but they closed down years ago. One of the buildings is still there, opened occasionally by someone trying to get a food joint of some type going, but it usually never lasts long. The current occupants have some type of fish place with a name I can't even pronounce. The other SnS that closed was re-opened temporarily as the "new" location for Mr. G's hotdogs, but it didn't last long, and the building was demolished shortly after.

We also used to have a Waffle House here in town. That was mine and my dad's favorite place. I'm sure I drove more than a few people nuts with the jukebox. It wasn't so much that I was playing bad music. It was the fact that the same song, over and over again, tends to be a little irritating. My dad, bless his heart, had the patience of an ox, however, because he never said a word. If I was happy, so was he. If anybody else said anything, however, they didn't say it for long. My dad is not the biggest guy, but he tended to be a little intimidating back in the day.

Unfortunately, that Waffle House closed down between 10 and 15 years ago, and to the best of my knowledge, there is only one Waffle House left in Illinois. It's on I-55 (I think) in Southern Illinois on your way to St. Louis.

Speaking of Waffle House jukeboxes, if I remember right this song is a staple on every one of them. Just makes me hungry watching it...

I usually end up at Steak n Shake or Denny's after a night of bar hopping. Now I am thinking Steak 'n Shake to end the evening tonight

Actually they put one just off C470 and quebeck I believe and recently opened another at Hampden (HWY285) and Federal Blvd. by the Target shoping complex. They are usually crowded around here since they are new to town.

I usually eat at them when I visit my brother in Florida. Love the fries and shakes!!!!!

No doubt! I am a S&S addict! It is one of the places I truly miss living out here in AZ. Whenever I go home I always eat there. Man, a double steak burger, fires, and a shakee sound soooooooooo good right now. Now I'm craving it! Thanks! :finga:

Damn, thinking about eating back home and now I want a bag of White Castles as well! :banghead:
 
Steak n shake is pretty awesome. Don't have any around here, but we stopped at one on a road trip once, and I was impressed.
