I haven't seen a thread on this yet.
How many of you out there are Eagle Scouts
Post the Year and Council

Me: Eagle Scout 1995
Daniel Boone Council
24 Merit Badges
Tiger Cub-Eagle Scout, Assistant Scoutmaster, Now Exploring Advisor :cheers:
 
I stayed on as an assistant scoutmaster until I was 20, and left the troop with the scoutmaster who was with me the entire time I was there.

It unfortunately turned into a babysitting service, and parents refused to be involved with the troop, yet they expected the world of us.

Thats sad for any troop, the troop I was with the church refused to recharter the troop and give up the troop number Luckily another church agreed to charter another troop, Im still involved but with Exploring not Scouts
 
It's great that you're still involved!

I think the Boy Scouts is a great organization to have young men involved with. It teaches invaluable lessons and skills.

Your exactly right wished more kids would be involved
 
I was an assitant cub master for 5 or 6 years then an assitant boy scout leader for 8 years or so. My 3 sons made it all the thru scouting with 2 of them making eagle and the third one only lacked an eagle project to finish. We are all members of OA. I'm very proud to tell anyone about my scouts.

Great Job Jeff. People don't know the dedication it takes to so the job and I know your proud of those Eagles, I'm also member of OA "brotherhood"
When Boys get the smell of Purfume and Rubber it's. hard to keep them focused too LOL
 
One son and I are brotherhood and the older two sons are vigil members and were members of the ceremonies team.

My grandson who is 5 is already looking to Tigers
 
Well.......I gotta scout story. But I didn't make Eagle Scout. Me and a childhood friend set fire to the scout camp trailer. That kinda ended our scoutin careers. True story.

We didn't even get a merit badge for startin the damn fire.

I am the Canadian version..a Chief Scout. It used to be Queen Scout but they changed the name my year..back @ 74 I was @ 14. I started in cubs and worked my self up.. My three sisters were all gold chord guides and my Mom was a Guide Commissioner.

It was a great time...

not a Eagle but i am a Vigil Honor (Nagataman Machque/Trusted Bear)
went to camp Daniel Boone as a youth and took my troop back three times and once to Bob Harden

That where I went to camp every summer, I'm taking the Explorer Post there next month for a event and haven't been there sense I was 17 and I'm looking forward to see how things have changed

Pony Express Council

Served 6 yrs on Camp Geiger Staff. Served on National Jamboree Staff in 2001. Camp Geiger does not participate in OA, they have their own program called The Tribe of Micosay. Of which I am a Keeper of the Sacred Bundle.

I get the pleasure of starting Cub Scouts with my son this year. Yay I'm so excited he starts Tigers this year, in Santa Fe Council in SW Ks.

My son started Cub Scouts last year and we are having a ball together!
 
Class of 1976 Orange County Council Troop 450 (which, I heard, just went under a year or two back)
My son is Class of 2007 Grand Canyon Council
My daughter earned the Venturing Silver Award in 2012 (closest thing to Eagle in the Coed part of Boy Scouts) Grand Canyon Council (and she loves telling people she's a Boy Scout)
My wife earned the Gold award in 4H (their highest award) probably around 1978(?) in Orange County, CA
My wife is the Venture Crew Advisor (going on 5 years)
I was Scoutmaster (for almost 4 years), an ASM before that, and Cubmaster for a year too.

This photo was after my daughter's Court of Honor for her Silver Award (which is why I'm in a Venturing uniform)

Even before I had kids I was highly involved with a troop of Boy Scouts from South Lyon, Mi. So many fine young men and the Eagle Scout rate from the troop was almost 100%!! I helped on many eagle projects and helped raise $1000's towards trips to Alaska, Philmont, Semester at Sea, and dozens of other trips!! Oh, and we ran a booth at the Pontiac Silverdome so I got to see 100's of concerts and sporting events as a bonus!!

Great troop and great kids!! I also work for the Great Sauk council at the Boy Scout camps, on projects and buildings that need repair and replacement!! Geof
