Anyone else into Ho slot cars? Here are some of mine-

I got my first Aurora HO set in 1964. Back then there wasn't a hobby shop around but there was a Hallmark card and gift shop near my house that sold Model Motoring stuff and I would save up my allowance and any money I made and buy new cars whenever I got a chance. Back in the 60's most of the Aurora cars were less than $5. I had quite a collection and as I got older I started buying tracks and cars at yard sales and swap meets. I eventually got enough that if I set it all up at once it would fill an average home (1000 sf) I'm 54 now and as my kids got older I used to set stuff up every now and then and let them play with it. Now my Daughters 28 and my son will be 21 next month so they didn't have any interest in any of it anymore so I stuck it on Craigslist and let it all go except for one brand new track that I reserved to put in my sons mancave. I still find myself looking at the cars every time I'm near a hobby shop. Some things are just hard to outgrow.

Got into HO slots, mid 70's. Magna Traction,G-plus,and the Tyco HP-2's. Picked up a 30 ft,Tyco track,at a garage sale(77). The shifters were way cool, not as good as the Tyco plunger,or the A F/X Russkit style. Still have a couple lying around.(HO cars.)....

Anybody interested in a bunch of stuff? I have HO, 1/32, Even 2 Carrera 1/24th super birds. I have parts to two different Eldon 1/32 sets given out in the early 70's by the Dodge dealership. And lots of track....lots PM me if interested. I don't have any pictures but may have to work on that.

I had an overwhelming amount of stuff but sold off most of it, it's funny I sent the stuff all over the world. Have some buddies that get together to run cars and when I go visit my mom try to get together with them. It is and always was a lot of fun.

Here was a shot of mine..

No digital but I had a lap program run by a computer. I (and my son) were in a competitive league and the counter solved any disputes.

Thanks for posting this! That room & track are gorgeous!

I got the Mopar set for Christmas. We have been racing ever since. After I got this set I went over to Hobby town and bought enough track to make a return track so we don't have to walk down to the big end and pick them up! Adding a cross over track so we change lanes ever run. It's a cool set.

Just wondering if anyone has seen a fold up (wall mount) set up in 1/32 size? Trying to figure a way to keep the track going and get it out of the way at the same time.

I collect HO scale. I got tired of the same old, so I decided to build some bodies. At the time I was really into Rat Rods. Here's a few in my collection.

All made from sheet styrene, super glue and a spray bomb.

I cast this body in resin based off of a HW body. The chassis was built from tube stock. Same thing for little red in the background.

Here's a little before and after. Tyco 40 Ford.

My dad collects vintage Mopar slot cars, mostly 1966 Barracuda Strombecker stuff, he has a few sets of those. I don't have pics but here is a picture of a NOS Strombecker poster I bought for him, pictured is a 1/25 scale promo that shows the banners size :glasses7:

Still love the H.O slot cars...
In the early 80's, there was a kid named Shaun Carlson. He had a 911 G-Plus Aurora, that was unreal. From the same address, member Ted Carlson lived.
