Just a weird question. What weird hobby or activity do you really enjoy doing that other people look at you like you're insane? Besides old cars, that is. Me, I like fixing computers. I'm not the best, and I'm mostly just a hardware guy. I've been known to work all night on a computer that is giving me issues (like last night), but I love it because there's just something zen-like about tearing a computer down to parade rest, fixing whatever was wrong, and then putting it all back together again. I do get into some software, mostly adware/malware/virus removal, but it comes with the territory.

This was how I spent my weekend. The one in the far back on the left is my personal laptop. It's where I go when I need to look something up. It's also my jukebox when I'm working. The one in front on the left is my old Gateway laptop. I retired it back in February when I got my current one. It has a persistent overheating issue, and I was cleaning it out and reapplying thermal paste.

The one on the right is a freebie Gateway we got from a friend about five years ago. I'm just finally breaking it out and fixing it up. Nothing majorly wrong with it, just another Gateway that is prone to overheating so I'm cleaning it out and applying thermal paste. That one I actually tore completely down. The only thing I didn't do was pull the motherboard out of the bottom case. But as you can see the two that were operated on are still working nicely. Of course, the one that we got in 2009 has a buttload of updates to do (193 for the first round, IIRC) but it's all part of the fun.

I do that weekly, must be an over 40 thing..... As for fun: Tinkering, in the garage and working on my garage shrine, for some reason. Would like to learn pinstriping, that's a long shot.

Shot gun golf, one guy drives them one shoots at them. Really hard, but a blast!
Cool knives bellhp!

Now THAT sounds like fun right there!

We play archery golf, set up a course at the club and use arrows instead of balls. Strictly traditional, recurves, longbows etc.

Everything I think of is related to MOPAR . Other than that shooting pistols and night bon fires

Something I do that people think weird or odd?

Gardening with the wife. Peoe look at me odd when I say inwas in the garden planting, digging, trimming, etc. for the most part, I don't tell or say much of my personal life. The less they know, the better.

i really enjoy making model cars
but since the kids came along there is no real time for that and it is darn near impossible to work on them with the kids around so i havent been productive on my models in year

i think i was actually working on a duster when i last got stalled

this is one of my favorites, i build it to match a hotwheels car

oh, and i cant forget this one, only lowrider i ever build
it started out as a nascar pontiac...and thats the wifey on the hood

i like going to the range to shoot some cardboard liberals or clay pigeons

and i have a few kawasaki KDX200s and a 220, one of which is plated
thats always great fun

Recently I've been collecting Onan generators and working on them.

Three more smaller ones in the garage I don't have pictures of.

i work on cars and model car kits ....which is no big deal for all you guys but when a girl decides to do it then the villagers gather in the town square with torches and pitchforks and chant "hear ye hear ye, there be a witch among us practicing some kind of voodoo in the garage. And such cant be a normal thing, I mean OMG!!! WTH!!!

I make the crowd back away by waving a 3/4 wrench at them but such does not make it right to own and maintain an old car. Which explains the stares at the salvage yards and the harsh bullying in auto school.

Oh well, I don't care and none of it matters when I am cruising my own car and its just me alone on a quiet road with the little slant six purring like a kitty :)

I also play polka music in the shop sometimes :???: I am also taking Italian lessons

old mopars and quarter horses been my passion since child. one thing about it, mechanics and horsemen, never learn it all, or at least horsemen... always something to learn...
I also make handmade bits, spurs, do a little leather work in winter.... no heat in car shed ( a garage with 2 open sides!??) LOL
WOW! working that flint!!!! like to learn that!!!

I collect 1/18 diecasts. Mopars. of course. Except for a few Fords for them to beat up on. I am concentrating on drag cars now. Have display cases filled with AWB Plymouths & Dodges, A990 Plymouths, Dart & Cuda superstockers.

Taking guitar lessons too but that isn't so weird.

some of my fondest memories are of me being a child, grade school age
i lived about a mile from school and walked there and back, and made the trip for lunch as well
every once in a while my grandmother (my dads mom) would watch us.
when i would come home for lunch i could smell the horsemeat she was coocking from blocks away but i was never allowed to eat it during lunch, it needed to simmer 4 more hours until dinner time
by then the meat would be so tender you could point a fork at them and it would fall apart

i make it back home about once a year and horsemeat is always high on the list of things i want to eat while im there

:glasses7:Doesn't fall into the weird category but I play keys in a rock band. Couple of good friends, the bride is in my band, are getting married in a couple of weeks and requested that I play "Lady" by Styx, so that's what I've been working on today and it's kicking my ***! Here's a clip of the intro which is as far as I've gotten so far. Still needs some polishing but I'm having fun learning it!
