Always heard that the 67/68 Camaro spoiler will work and look good on the Demons. So i took a chance and found one on E-bay without mounting hardware for $33 Shipped. The valance on my demon is not mint and has slight tweaks so i figured ill try it out!! Also sometime in its distant past (over 25 years ago) it looks like someone drilled holes in it for maybe a air dam/spoiler! Here is the valance just removed, and new spoiler.

If that doesn't work out you should check out spoilers by Randy. I have one on my 70 dart. I had to drill 4 holes in the valance. It looks great. The only problem I see with it is it's steel. If I was to hit it on the curb it would surely destroy it. Plastic is way more durable.

This camaro one is plastic. It's flexable somewhat so if you bump a parking stop it should flex a bit before it cracks, but obviously if you hit to hard I'm sure it will be trashed. Good thing it's $33 shipped!

The Camaro piece fits just fine. It should curve up more out toward the fenders, but the plastic is flexible enough that you can pull the corners up with the mounting bolts.

I only drilled two holes, for the outer corners of the spoiler. I used the existing holes for mounting the valance and drilled a couple of holes in the spoiler for the inner mounts. I'm going to make up a brace to go to the lower middle of the spoiler so it doesn't deflect a ton at speed, but its pretty solid even with just 4 bolts.

This is just the OER plastic one, I paid about $30 for it as well. I sprayed it out with plastidip to give it a matte appearance. There's a few other folks that run them, I know GmachineDartGT runs one on his Dart as well.

I like it. good piece for the city. out here in the sticks coons and possums might be hard on it!?

Ha! :D

They'd be hard on anything though. The thing I like about the ABS material is that if I do hit something with the spoiler, it's likely to break before it does too much damage to my valance.

I have a metal spoiler from SpoilersbyRandy also, and hitting parking block or a possum would do a number on it anyway, its pretty thin, just sheetmetal after all. But it wouldn't just break, it would deform, and that might damage the valance in the process.

Plus the OER abs crapmaro spoilers are $30. If it gets busted, I buy a new one. I can buy a handful of them before I come anywhere near what the SpoilersbyRandy pieces cost. They're definitely nice, don't get me wrong, but I think the $30 ones look just as good.

With these spoilers can you still drive up on car ramps?

Fred B

Car ramps? Like for a trailer? Couldn't tell you, I don't trailer my car anywhere. Ever. It's a car, if I need to take somewhere I drive it.

So far it seems like it clears shorter parking blocks. But my car is lowered about as far as you can go with the stock LCA's, I've got an 1-1/2" from the top of the LCA to the bottom of the frame. Wouldn't be much of an issue for most folks.

Did you notice any difference with it like cooling or noise?

I haven't noticed any increase in noise, but I probably couldn't hear it over my exhaust anyway. I run dynomax welded ultra flo's, that's pretty much all I hear. :D

It's possible it runs a little cooler, but it's not much if it does. I haven't had any issues with running hot when I'm on the open road. I was actually considering a radiator cover of some kind when it was colder, I was having a hard time keeping the thermostat open on the freeway anytime the temp was much less than 45*F.

It might just be wishful thinking, but the car does seem to feel more stable at speed on the freeway. The front end feels more solid at higher speeds. Not that it was floaty before, but at 70+ the steering felt a little lighter than it did, say, under 50 or so. Now it feels the same all the way through. It's not a huge difference, but with 16:1 manual steering and 275's up front I notice if the steering gets even a tiny bit easier. ;)

I'm liking the spoiler & how it looks....Still thinking about 1 for my car. Great thread & info!! Thanks

That looks good on your Demon (??) too. What's up with the 68 marker lights on the fenders? Just wondering...kinda 8)

Yeah I need to change my signature. My Duster has finally turned into a Demon tribute. As for the '68 markers, I just liked them better so I welded up the '71 marker holes and put the '68 makers in there instead. Figure there's no "correct" marker for a '74 duster that looks like a '71 Demon anyway.

That'll turn some heads......Luv it!! 8)

Not a trailer. I meant drive on ramps to work on it.

best I can tell if you look at it head on it will mount in between the wheels so there shouldn't me a problem there
(maybe he can measure it for you and that should tell you)

it does look good

I'll measure it when installed. A lot of snow here today and the Super Bowl so not sure it will be installed. Even if it touches the ramps it should be a 5 min job to remove it any time you need to drive it up on ramps.

here it is installed i used 1/4-20 bolts with washers and nylock nuts. it fit great no gaps!! i drilled holes at the very edge that pulled it flush with the valance.
