I'm a small block fan...through and through. Not big blocks...small block V8s.
But when I watch videos of /6s getting big power, idling like a beast and smoking tires, I get very excited about it!
I doubt I'll be swapping my small block for a /6 but they are pretty damn nice little mills!

Ummmmmmm...... we're still wait'n for ya to post some time slips from the 318......
:poke:

Nope, no one wanted it
If I remember correctly I had it listed as "the entire thing for free, or 1 dollar a pound for parts"
I sold the carb, intake and exhaust manifold

The rest got scrapped

If you not local for free, heavy stuff like a motor, it will generally be scrapped

Check Tony Defeo's " whitepunkonnitro" s post ,on a low buck / 6 stick shift build up.. No one ,does it better, than Defeo style....

The love of them goes away really quick when you figure out you can do the same modifications to most any v8 for a better return on investment...there cylinder head design is a handicap for any real power, and most cars that seem fast with a slant, are ultra light weight. In the real world, a magnum 5.2 makes way better power, simular MPG, and sounds like a v8, not that horrible 6 cylinder sound

BMW fans are thrilled they returned to the straight six, after several years w/ a V-8. A turbo-charger overcomes the slant's poor-flowing heads, and has gotten one guy into the 10's in 1/4 mile. Seems turbo would be much harder for a small-block, given you need 2 turbos (or complicated plumbing) and much less space.

Hey, different strokes for different folks. I see you're running a Mopar, not a chevy. Over the years, I have run cars/engines from all "big three" American car makers. and all Mopar engines, prior to 1990. The slant six, is to me, the most fun.

I rently loved to SE Tx sld of 5 mopars non rare or exotic, a 67 Bel1, big block project, numerous early darts, a 65 273 uda, what did I happen to keep and really wanted to keep??? my 62 Lancer 2 door post project, 170 3 on t he tree! ha
since the mid 80 s I have have numerous B and E six pack cars, 2 hemis. scores of runner, bees, early b bodi, tons of E bodi .... manay A bodies...... why the slant? I ENJOY it. just that simple. and I love the unusual look of the "toad"! ha

Nothing against the slant, or what you wrote...... but for the record there are many, many, many small blocks in the 10's without the turbo.

I don't DISLIKE a slant really, I just couldn't get excited about one after owning quite a few. I had ideas of putting a turbo on one at one time, but never did. It's cool we don't all like the same thing tho!

Best pass was a 12.93 in the 1/4. I sold it a few years ago.Plan on building another.

Yeah, In the staging lanes I would walk away from my car only to find 4 or so guys sitting in it when I got back. They said it was easier that climbing in and out of their roll cage.......

The slant six puts a smile on everyone's face. Yea stock they may just humm down the road like a sewing machine, but a Valiant with a SL6 with def be both my kids first cars.

Not everyone has a teener or 340 story, but when I had the hood up on my detailed, nearly stock(looking) 225, every person that walked up got a big shitty grin and had a story about the time they crossed paths with the great leaning tower of power..
