This is probably a well worked rehashed question and I will search old threads but I would like a fresh look. Car insurance . Getting ready to insure the Dart . I was with Condon Skully but dropped them . Would like to find out what other guys and gals are using , what the coverage is and yearly premium and if your happy with them. You don't have to post here if you think its private you can PM me . Any help would be great .

State Farm .......
100 bucks every 6 months for liability, comprehensive (hail, deer, tree limb, vandalism, etc) and towing. I don't have them insured as classics. Don't have a trailer queen or anything real expensive, so this is how I roll...... :)

Thanks have looked at state farm... not out of the question

American Family. I got most of my stuff with them. Although I did have my Duster appraised, they asked me what I want it insured for and set premium accordingly. Don't remember what it is, but it's cheaper than my snowmobile.

State Farm is a good company since they got their *** sued off but 318willrun, I don't think comp will cover vandalism.

I've never tried, but I know 2 different people that had their window smashed out and it covered that..... or maybe it was their house insurance... can't remember

Glass coverage might be separate. To sum up comprehensive insurance, the claim has to be considered an act of god. Deer, rock falling etc

Liberty Mutual. Had the best quote for the lowest price the last time I switched (over 10 years ago). Rates only jumped when I added the dreaded teenage drivers. But they have been the best company I have dealt with. Cheapest is not always the best.

How do they do that? We are sitting here talking about insurance and sure enough add poppers hit me with esurance ads.

Keep in mind I'm looking to insure my Dart not family car

Yeah, I have vehicles that go back to 1936. It's not an issue. You wont know your options until you make the call(s) and do a fair comparison.

Another vote for State Farm. I've had the same agent for 37 years. He knows exactly what my car is and we have it insured for an agreed upon value. Comp/collision/uninsured motorist. I pay $500/yr with a $500 deductable.

That's actually really good. I pay 200 a year, and don't know what I'd get for $$$
Ya seems too good to be true. I can tell you what you'll get. If it's your fault 318willrun, you will get nothing. If it's comp or someone else fault, you will get70- 80% of the nada book value.

I know if I wreck it, it's on me. On my 65 ply 4dr I sold, I think they told me 2200, and I sold it for 2600 or something, so I thought that was ok by me.
They did tell me that if I wanted to insure a classic for like 10k, I'd have to get antique vehicle plates. I have them on one Duster, but nothing else.
I guess I don't have any high dollar cars, and the plan is not to wreck anything :D

I use American Collectors. Just paid this years premium. $245 for both cars. One valued at $11K the other $6K. $200 deductible. Includes towing up to 250 miles and $1500 for parts and tools.
I had a claim this year when bambi decided to run out in front of me, so I'm pretty happy with the service.

I've got Grundy..my duster is insured for $30k cost $320 a year..

These "collector" type policies usually have some restrictions like limited mileage and stored in a garage but for most that is not an issue.

Yes most collector insurance requires yearly miles and agreed value , that's OK with me

I have American Collectors,
I was told as long as I don't use the car as a D/D I'm good. No mileage restrictions which is good, I do travel to some shows out of state.

Of all the companies I have gotten quotes from and read reviews , most problem is with customer service , agents rude or not knowledgeable , slow turn around time etc.
You can't make everyone happy but the last thing I want is a pissing match when I want my insurance to kick in hopefully that won't happen.
So far its down to Grundy which offers 300,000 across the board , towing and glass included ,$600 on trip interrupt and $500 . on parts , $500 deductible and $30,000
agreed value , no mileage limit . $250 per yr.
Classic collector has 100/300 , $250 deductible. They have different mileage plans , I went for the low 1200 mile plan which has a $250 deductible for modified cars.
No mention of safety glass , towing , parts or any road side assistance.
These are only on line quotes and I know will differ in person and have not ruled out American collects .
Grundy seems to give the most bang for the buck . Anyone have dealings with Grundy ?
