Hi,
Has anyone used the direct fit no modification Bergman auto craft coupler kit and Borgeson p/s box in their Dart ?

It's a bit pricey but I'm not happy with the new rebuilt p/s box I had installed in my 72 Swinger.

Best vender to buy the complete kit from ?

Your experience with install and end results....

Thanx Kevin

Yes. I used both the Borgeson p/s box and the Borgeson u-joint coupler. Pretty nice. I just ordered it from Summit Racing. I doubt if you'll find any discount prices. No problem with installation, except that the hoses could be a little longer to keep them away from the headers. I wrapped mine in heat barrier tape just to be sure.

Put that setup in my 71 scamp. Very happy with the results. Made you feel safer in the corners and more fun to drive in a "fun" manor. You feel more in control of the car. I would do this swap again in my next project.

Installed the Bergman unit with their coupler. Haven't driven it yet due to other items still being worked on.

Seems like a nice piece though. Definitely pricey, after replacing the PS box before and not have any luck I figured I would pay more for this one with hopes it will last and feel a lot better.

I'm thinking about it too. That adapter from Bergman must be made of unobtanium. It's just a coupler with a sleeve welded into it. Not sure if the standard Borgeson coupler is a good idea.

A friend has one in his Valiant for a few years now.Said it's the best thing he has ever had. Another put one in his 64 dodge station wagon..He is a happy camper.

Thanks for the kind words from the people who have the product. True, it more costly than a rebuilt factory box. But the factory box was terrible when it was new in the 50's... The quicker ratio and modern valving makes all the difference to create a modern steering feel and sharp response. The "just a coupler with a sleeve on it" is the key to the installing the steering box without modifying your column. The column was never designed for a solid connection to the box, so it's the only good choice. I also designed custom fittings to allow the use of your original hoses. I keep all in stock including the boxes. If ya'll come up with a group buy of 5 kits or more I am willing to give a Fabo discount of 10%.

Dang, should have definitely done this! Sounds like a good deal for FABO.

Can I jump on the list for a retroactive 10% back?

Haha just kidding. That's cool of you to make the offer. I think people should take advantage.

Was planning on buying in a few months, but 10% off may be too much to pass up. Checking budget now...

72 and earlier is small sector. 73 and up is large sector.
Look at the pitman arm, ball joint side at the center link. If the castle nut is ABOVE the link, its a small sector. If its BELOW the link, its a larger sector.

I'm sorry for the holdup...will have an in or out commitment later tonight.

Thanks, guys.
