Well everything fits as planned, just need to massage the underside of the throttle body in order for it not to rest/rub/touch the fuel rails
So far so good I'm soo jazzed about this. :usflag:

So I had to do some sanding to the throttle body adapter plate and to Whipple throttle body manifold to clear the injectors and fuel rail, turned out pretty good. Moving forward!

The Supercharger has been rebuilt/ refurbished but looks like **** from the front plate back, scratched and faded anodize . Would it be sacrileges if I panted it the same color as I plan to paint the rest of the motor.
Not Wrinkle but a Semi gloss textured black? Seeking input

What color are you painting the car?

I don't know if I would do body color, but maybe something to break up a big lump of black motor. Keep the ends black and maybe a satin aluminum color on the blower case itself? How about painting the case in something like Brembo brake caliper red to make it pop?
It's just me and my old dude opinion, but I always try to keep my engines at 3 colors.
If that makes any sense.
The example would be, black engine, aluminum accessories (water pump, alternator, intake, et al.) and blower case in red with black ends to tie it in.
But that's just me....
 
Well this is finished. I'm going to go with textured black manifold block and heads. Topped with glossy black whipple and valve covers, and all dull black hoes. Funny as it sounds i want the motor to look unassuming to the normal person.

Also started the EPAS project. Took a few days to figure out how I wanted to do it but after a few moch ups and rethinking my idea. I think i have come to suitable setup and will proceed to implement it over this coming weekend. I'm hoping to have it (the unit) mounted and will finish off the steering shaft after i source a new shaft as i have come to find out the PO used the wrong nut and thread pitch to install the wheel... "If it tight it right?" Right

Okay got some cuts made and a few tack welds finished. Coller made to fit the EPAS unit to the column. Mochup and final placment of the unit located and installed.
So far its just mounted to the column, i plan on adding a few solid mounts to the pedal box.
I was able to orient it without cutting too much of the pedal box but only cause I won't be using the stock ebrake mechanism. If you plan on doing this and retaining the use of either the vent door or ebrake or both you will need to rotate it up much more than mine.
I tried fitting it much like EPAS performance but they don't require and cutting of the box and only a spacer to off set the ebrake mount. Well that has the motor of the unit infront ot the vent door. Thsi seemed very dumb so I notched the pedal box enough to roll everything up. This also made for a clean mount and very little underhang.

I will be taking better picture with greater detail to what i modified in the future once i have everything finished.
 
So after a little day drinking with the wife I'm back in the garage and i fitted the saturn vue steering shaft and it looks like its going to work perfect. Except it has a 3/4" Double D fitting on the steering box end. One of two options. Pull the steering box and machine the spline end to a double d. Or take a power to manual adaptor and machine the spline end to a double d end ( this will be my option)
Best part is this steering shaft is a collapsible, which also means is ajustable in length, so fitting is easy!

Okay so I got some parts in bound to finish this upgrade. I was able to find someone nice enough to sell me the cut down steering rod I needed to replace the messed up threads of mine. Thank you @65 Dartman

So far this upgrade was/is much easier than I thought it would be. The key was getting the EPAS unit with both the wheel stalk and the steering linkage.

For the linkage to the steering box I need a few inches of DD steering rod, and a DD to 3/4 36 spline coupler. Getting these both from ididit via speedway motors. I was going to try and machine the power to manual conversion coupler I have but my buddy foresaw issue with chucking it up in the old time brigeport we have access to... Once all these parts are here I'll be able to finish this project and post more pictures!

I do have to say if anyone is on the fence about doing this it was/is super simple to do. I procrastinated for two weeks about cutting up my steering column worried I would screw up but it really was simple to do.
The only thing I needed out side of what I listed to complete this was a 4-5" piece of 2" o.d. tube ( i used this to graft the cut column to the EPAS 3 blot flange. The 2" tube fits perfectly inside of the column. in the pictures below you can see it inside the welded column. Below is also the finished pedal box. after i notched it to fit EPAS I noticed that is lost a bit of its rigidity so I welded a some metal back to keep its strength, and it worked out perfectly.

I was able to get a little bit done. I got my steering rod cut down and ready for welding.
and I was able to build a coupler to fit both the Vue steering shaft and the Plymouth manual box.
Once I get the steering rod finish welded I'll be able to bolt everything together.

Done!
With the exception of the electrics, but all the mechanical parts are welded and fitted. Everything works, fits and looks great!

Nice project!
I did the same for my -64 Dart steering, but had a little bit different approach for it. No welds on the steering shaft, all parts were bolt on.
