magnum power steering pump with serpentine belt adapted to 73 power steering box?

A friend of mine who is not an internet person wants to run the 360 magnum with the factory serpentine belt and a factory 360 magnum power steering pump in a 73 Dart. He wants to retain the Dart's stock 73 power steering box and just buy (or fabricate) power steering hoses that will connect the 73 box to the magnum pump.

Has anyone encountered this problem?
 
The stock dart power steering hose works fine. There were two hoses offered for my 1970 dart at oreillys. Just get the one with the O-ring fitting for the pump. No special hoses or adapters needed.
 
You probably should supply more info on his plan, as there are other difficulties with this setup. The narrow engine compartment causes battery tray clearance issues with full size pickup truck power steering brackets but not usually with van brackets. Also, if he is running a carburetor, the factory magnum timing cover does not have provisions for running a mechanical fuel pump, and a magnum water pump won't work on a LA style timing cover. All easy fixes, but make sure he knows before buying parts.
 
He's running the fuel injection and an electric fuel pump. They have worked out all the wiring, computer probs, etc. I'm not certain if he's decided on ac but power steering is on the wish list.

I used the Grand Cherokee set up and it has no clearance issues with the battery tray.

Hey @dartslantsix I was wondering, are you running an A/C compressor or an A/C delete pulley in your setup?

I know someone that is trying to the run the Magnum serpentine setup but without and A/C compressor OR A/C delete pulley while using the Cherokee power steering pump. He needed help trying to figure out a part number for the correct length belt. Can you help in situation? Do you happen to know the correct length and/or part number for a belt? Thanks!

I am running the A/C compressor, so the stock belt works. I believe Dorman sells a dummy pulley to delete the compressor, which would use a stock length belt. Otherwise, measure it with some string and go to the autoparts store and find something. Rockauto also lists belt lengths on most stuff too. Good luck.
 
Re belts, I downloaded a Gates catalog which has both V & multi-V belts w/ all dimensions. As I recall, they come in 2" circumference increments. V-belts are in 3 different widths. Multi-V come in several "number of V's", most common being 6 if the main belt.

Re p.s. pump, I think all Magnums used the Saginaw (GM) pump, which started ~1973+ for all bodies. As best I have found, the fittings on the gearbox varied with the pump (TRW, Federal, then Saginaw) and you can swap just the spool valve body and return to get the correct fittings (if you can find them, but small so cheap to mail).
