Help me understand!!!!! What makes a guru? Better yet, what is a guru? And compared to who?

A knowledgeable professional. They may not know absolutely everything about their passion but they are the go to person on the subject.

Years ago, there was a guy? Or guru? that ran a speed shop in the next town. His Camaro ran 8.90's, he did my friends BBM heads (9.20 car), he did race car heads. I took my 906 heads to him, had him install new guides/seats/valves. When I got the heads back, 1 head was perfect, the other head only half of each exhaust valve was touching the seat.. LOL. I was mad. but, was he still a guru? Not to me!

If you don't have one of these....you're not a GURU!!

Time, experience, and attention to detail. A willingness to break everything down to something measured and proven.

So then are we fools for not abiding by their statements?? Ask the gurus about which oil to use….. ???? What if they don't agree???? Is one guru an imposter???? :realcrazy:

well.............I know more about what is in my head than anyone else on earth. So I guess you could say I'm a "GURU" on my own library of knowledge?? Although my wife would disagree.... She doesn't believe I have a grip on anything???

SORRY....If you're not a member of the "Apprentice GURU Program" you can't apply for the "GURU" certificate?? You can apply for the training GURU program here:

I voted for the guy with the lowest ET, (no matter how much was spent)
Actually I don't really completely believe that.
A Guru is a person that has decades of experience and understands how everything works, and how everything works together.
A Guru is a person that knows what works best no matter what a book or Youtube video says.
A Guru is a person that has done whatever the job or interest is long enough to know the special tricks of the trade or hobby.

So.......I guess you could say that the owner of "Graveyard Cars" is a GURU on model/years of Mopars he works on?? If that's a GURU then I prefer to remain stupid rather than act like a pycho/teenager around my employees.:poke::mad::mob::rofl:

I wouldn't go that far. LOL He is an actor and has his own tv show. LOL He also reads from a script.

The script tells him to humiliate employees and to act like an ***?? I think his true personality shines through anything written in the script. Just my observation. Love the info and videos but can't stand his attitude. Just cuz you know everything doesn't mean you have to rub it in peoples' (employees) faces .
