Pulled a 904 out of my 65 Dart and found that the kickdown lever has snapped off. I've done numerous searches and can't find the part anywhere. It's a dual cable shift model.

I have a valve body from a 65 727, probably the same part. $20 plus shipping and you can have the whole VB.

Weird that it's not discolored from heat. But I suppose if the reverse/high clutch wore down gradually, and reverse became delayed, then every reverse engagement would be extremely harsh (when it did finally engage at a high rpm). But anyway, 904 kits are extremely cheap, cuz now you're going to need an overhaul kit for the clutches; unless you scavenge them from the other trans....but you'll need that top plate, so might as well take it apart. I hope you checked the endplay before you pulled the pump. You'll need a pump gasket, front seal, pump o-ring, and pan gasket at a minimum. Those come in a $15 seal up kit; along with tailshaft housing gasket, speedo seals, kd shaft seal, etc. But you'll have to order the rear seal special.

That snap ring looks low in the drum. You could use the bottom pressure plate from the other forward clutch as the top plate and squeeze in another steel and friction. Always check the clearance with the forward drum.
